Everything You Need To Know About Bulk Cat5e Cable
by Jimmy Dunn
Cat5 cable is the original Ethernet cable, and includes four twisted pairs in a single jacket. The twisted pair design helps reduce interference from external sources and other pairs (also known as crosstalk). Its performance specifications were designed for use with up to 100Mbit/s networks in fact, the most common usage for Cat5 cable is 100BASE-TX Ethernet.
In 2001, Cat5e (or enhanced Cat5) was designed, with stricter specifications for performance and speed. The biggest difference between Cat5 and Cat5e is that Cat5e can be used with Gigabit networks, networks like 1000BASE-T that boast transfer speeds of up to 1000Mbit/s. Cat5e also has slightly modified wiring for even greater protection from far end crosstalk.
In general, Cat5 has been almost completely replaced by Cat5e. While you can still find Cat5 cable out there, you can often find Cat5e at almost the exact same price. You may not notice a difference in performance for a home network, but virtually all business settings will benefit from exclusively using Cat5e.
UTP or STP?
The "TP" in both STP and UTP stands for "Twisted Pair." As mentioned previously, Cat5 cables include 8 total wires, each twisted with another to create four twisted pairs. This balanced pairing is crucial in avoiding crosstalk and establishing a high signal-to-noise ratio even in interference-rich environments.
STP is Shielded Twisted Pair. Each pair in the cable is covered in a metal sheath, which provides protection against EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). The drawbacks to shielding are a heavier cable without the same level of flexibility as UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair). STP is also a slightly more expensive cable and all of its jacks and terminators are shielded to be effective, which can add up over long distances.
UTP has no additional shielding around its individual twisted pairs, and thus does not require that its terminators and jacks also be shielded. Additionally, it is a light, thin, and flexible cable. This means that it is easy to wire between walls and won't take up the space that you may need for additional wiring.
Conclusion
Unless you have specific needs, UTP Cat5e cable is the best solution for most of your networking needs. Not only is it reliable, fast, and easy to work with, it's also the cheapest LAN cable on the market.
For additional shielding, go ahead and pay the extra for STP but remember that the cable will have less flexibility and needs shielded counterparts when planning your networking.

Tea: White Tea: Indias White Teas Compared To Ceylon White Teas
Tea: White Tea: Indias White Teas Compared To Ceylon White Teas
by Marcus Stout
White tea is quickly becoming one of the most popular teas in the world. Tea connoisseurs everywhere are scrambling to learn about the different varieties of white tea and sampling them like made. The vast majority of white tea is grown in China, with Japan being the second most popular place for growing white tea.
However, each year more and more white tea comes from India and Sri Lanka, making these the two fastest growing regions for the production of white tea. Many people are not familiar with white teas from these countries, though black tea from both Sri Lanka and India are very common. As time goes on, its certain that youll see more of these white teas become available.
Sri Lanka and Ceylon Tea
Ceylon is the colonial name for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is the third largest tea producing area in the world, but is mostly known for its black teas. In fact, tea production is Sri Lankas largest employer, providing work for more than one million residents. Approximately 19% of the tea consumed in the world is Ceylon tea.
Tea is grown in Sri Lankas highlands over an area of about four thousand miles, and tea can be plucked all year long. White Ceylon tea is grown in the Nuwara Eliya region near Adams Peak, where the altitude is about 2200-2500 meters above sea level.
All Ceylon teas have a distinct flavor that is different from Indian and Asian teas. Ceylon is a very mild tea, and is often recommended for new tea drinkers since it has lots of flavor, but retains its mildness. When it comes to the Ceylon white teas, the color is very light with gold to copper color. Youll taste a bit of honey and pine in a Ceylon white tea.
Ceylon white tea is harvested and rolled by hand. The leaves are dry and are allowed to wither in the sun. Because Ceylon white is only grown in a small area of the country, it is rare and highly prized. Because the tea is not mass produced, and because Sri Lanka ensures that tea farming can continue to be viable career for its citizens, Ceylon white tea is one of the most expensive white teas you can buy.
India and Darjeeling Tea
Darjeeling is a region in the northeastern part of India, in the foothills of the Himalayas, between Nepal, Sikkim and Bhutan. Darjeeling is one of the most well known tea producing regions in the world, and Darjeeling tea is known for its very distinct flavor. Today the Darjeeling region boasts more than 80 tea gardens over 19,000 hectares. Tea production employs over 52,000 Nepalese people full time, with another 15,000 people employed part time during the plucking season.
Darjeeling teas are known as the Champagne of Teas, in part because of the distinct muscatel flavor. Youll also find Darjeeling teas to have a bit of a flowery note and a significant astringency. It is the exact combination of the moist cool climate, the fertile soil, heavy rain and gradually sloping terrain that gives the Darjeeling tea a flavor that cannot be matched by tea gardens in other parts of the world.
If youve tried Darjeeling in black tea, and been disappointed, its likely because you bought a tea that was labeled Darjeeling, but was actually a mix of teas, including Darjeeling as part of the mixture. Darjeeling experts believe that each year about 10,000 pounds of Darjeeling tea is grown, but about 40,000 pounds of tea is labeled Darjeeling. So, its important to choose tea that is labeled 100% Darjeeling to ensure you get that distinct flavor.
Darjeeling white tea is far rarer than Darjeeling black teas. Darjeeling white tea is very mild and slightly sweet like other white teas. It brews to a pale golden color, and because it is less compact than many other teas in loose form, requires more tea leaves per cup. However, it still retains the astringency and muscatel flavor of Darjeeling black in a lighter flavor.
Many tea drinkers who find black Darjeeling a bit strong will likely love white Darjeeling because it is more flavorful than many other white teas yet is not as robust as black Darjeeling.
If youre interested in sampling a Darjeeling white tea, Darjeeling White Tips is a great tea to start with. Its very indicative of most good Darjeeling teas, with a light sweet note and a flavor that reminds you of muscatel and other white wine. If youve found other white teas nearly tasteless, you may be pleasantly surprised by the flavor in a Darjeeling.
Because such a large percentage of the worlds white tea is grown in China and Japan, people often overlook Indian and Ceylon teas. But, in fact, some of the most delicious white tea in the world is grown in these two areas. As youre sampling the many variations of white tea out there in pursuit of your favorite, dont forget Ceylon and Darjeeling. Youre sure to love them both.

Running Antispyware
Running Antispyware
by Arvind Singh
While there is nothing complicated about installing antispyware programs, you must be alert to download its latest version including the most recent spyware detection signature files. Read the end user license agreement to know exactly what you are going to download.
Getting Antispyware packages installed in your system is easy enough, but you must be alert to download its latest version including the most recent spyware detection signature files.
Your number one concern while installing antispyware removal tools should be to read the end user license agreement to know exactly what you are agreeing to download. That done let's look at how to go about getting your antispyware and adware removal package to work.
Getting Started With Antispyware Software
There is nothing complicated about installing your antispyware programs. But what you need to remember is that the latest spyware detection signature files won't download automatically until you tell them to. So ensure that it is updated and also choose the option of automatic updates if available.
If your antispyware removal tool offers real-time protection and blocking of spyware, use it. There is always the chance, though, that the spyware might get into your system before it is detected. Start with the default settings, explore, and experiment with them. Make it a habit to run full scans on a regular basis. Schedule your antispyware software to remove Trojans say, once a week or every time you startup your system.
The next step is to make sense of your scan results. Antispyware software removal tools recognize spyware and their locations in processes in your system, tracking cookies, registry entries and shortcuts on your desktop or start menu. When there are running processes, it could imply active spyware in your memory. If you see registry entries and files, it is likely that spyware may have been lodged in your hard drive. Go through the details and analyze them. Tracking cookies can be harmless, but if tied to an IP, they can turn into spies that track your browsing habits, invading your privacy.
Taking Action On The Results
Some spyware or adware may be an integral part of some programs, games or utilities, which may not function if you remove the spyware and adware. If it is okay with you to keep this spyware and adware, and you feel that they are not threatening, retain them. Once the relevant spyware is removed run the scan again. In spite of all the precaution, you might still find traces of the spyware. Or you might find that it has reinstalled itself back into you computer. So reboot your machine and scan again. If you still find antispyware products, run the scan again with an alternate antispyware removal tool.
Regarding the alerts that come up during the real time protection, look for alerts that announce the presence of spyware, understand the implications and get rid of it.

10 Unique Ways to Give Thanks During the Holiday Season
10 Unique Ways to Give Thanks During the Holiday Season
by Tzippi Moss
T'is the season when the commercials on T.V. and the radio and the displays in the stores cajole and convince us to buy, buy, buy. It's easy to get overwhelmed by trying to find that perfect gift for everyone. Yet the truest message at this time of year is to thank, thank, thank. Isn't this at the heart of Christmas? Chanukah? And all the other holidays? So in that fashion, I would like to propose various ways of giving thanks to your loved ones, yourself and your life.
I just read about a man who has been playing Santa for years by anonymously giving gifts of cash to strangers who can use a lift in spirit. We dont have to be so generous to strangers with our spare cash, but there are plenty of great and low- or no-cost ideas to give thanks.
Yes, I have a web site dedicated to helping people make great birthday celebrations, but its also devoted to ways of better celebrating life. Here are a few ways of giving thanks to those that celebrate a birthday this month, or to just anyone whose presence has made a difference in your life:
1. Send a card sharing all the qualities you appreciate in that person. Challenge yourself to come up with one trait for every year he or she has lived. This is one card that will not be relegated to the garbage can.
2. Write down a memory of this person that is meaningful to you - a way, perhaps, of how this person has influenced your life for the better, or of how she helped you when you most needed it. Add a favorite picture of both of you to the card.
3. Send an anonymous love letter to this person.
4. Copy the list of natural highs listed below, adding or highlighting one item that your friend has graced you with. Add a short explanation and forward it by snail or e-mail.
5. Choose at least one person from your holiday card mailing list to call up. Ideally, it should be someone who you havent talked to in a long, long time. Thank this person for being in your life by sharing something you treasure about him or her. Youll give the gift of letting someone know she still matters in your life and you get the present of reconnecting with a long lost friend or family member.
6. Give the gift of quality time. Though I give thanks daily for my loved ones, that doesnt necessarily translate on the day- to -day level to them feeling like a priority. Doesnt it often seem that e-mail, shopping, work, cooking and a long list of other to dos often take precedence over wonderful undisturbed time with those we most treasure? When my teenage son recently asked me what I wanted for a birthday gift, I answered time to go out together, just the two of us. He took me out to a local ice cream place and the sweetest taste of all was having the opportunity to hang out together and catch up on the little things in each others lives.
7. Do a favor. We all have certain errands or chores that we prefer not to do. We all have moments when we want to be forgiven for something. We all have times when we need some comfort. Have you considered making up a little booklet with coupons that state this can be redeemed for: not having to do a chore, being unconditionally forgiven, receiving a 5 minute foot massage, being listened to with no interruptions, one good cry on the shoulder, etc.? Youll thank yourself for having been able to make a big or small difference to someone in that moment.
8. Surprise someone. Imagine giving to someone who would never expect a gift from you. Give thanks for all that you have in your life by spreading some of that abundance around. Bring a pot of soup over to someone you know who lives alone and would love some home made food and conversation. Write a letter thanking someone for special service or assistance they have given you. Give a really huge tip.
9. Give thanks for what has inspired you in your life by sharing the gift of inspiration with others. You can compile a collection of great articles that youve clipped from the paper, or unique quotes that you download from the internet, or share a piece of wisdom thats worth knowing. (For a great book that compiles the wisdom of folks from ages 60s-90s, check out Whats Worth Knowing (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FWhats-Worth-Knowing-Wendy-Lustbader%2Fdp%2F1585423726%2Fsr%3D1-2%2Fqid%3D1164624612%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks&tag=wbclub-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=wbclub-20&l=ur2&o=1).
10. Laugh and the world laughs with you. Humor is one of lifes greatest gifts, so share it with someone by sending a great joke, buying a funny book or seeing a comedy together.
Giving thanks and expressing gratitude are not just gifts you give to others. Its also one of the best gifts you can give yourself. According to some of the most recent research, people who develop grateful mindsets, in addition to obviously feeling happier, also report fewer physical symptoms and more readily achieve goals set for themselves. So this holiday season, put feeling thankful at the very top of your list of resolutions.

Insights Into Establishing A Harmonious Blended Family
Insights Into Establishing A Harmonious Blended Family
by Sharon Vaz
Many adults are getting married with children already in the wings. The result blended families can be greatly rewarding, although not without conflict. This article highlights some areas of concern for blended families and how to deal with them.
It is not uncommon these days for couples to pursue remarriage with children already in tow. Blended family statistics show that at least one in three Americans is now a stepchild, stepparent, a stepsibling, or some part of a blended family.
Blended families are usually the result of remarriage after divorce, where both bride and groom have kids under their wings. Or perhaps its a first time wedding for two single parents. Whatever the reason, families that are united by virtue of marriage and not blood are on the rise, bringing hope and stability to many peoples lives.
Blended Family Remarriage Conflicts
Its not much of a surprise, however, that kids who suddenly have to deal with a "stepmother" or "stepfather" tend to shy away, become closed off, or openly rebel towards change. Its a normal blended family issue that can be dealt with successfully; one must be prepared for resistance though.
Another blended family problem that often crops up is experienced by adults who cant deal with children that are not their own. This usually stems from the idea that because a child is not ones own flesh and blood, one has no real right to get involved in that childs life. Like every other blended family conflict, it can be dealt with positively and effectively.
If you are part of a stepfamily, youre probably familiar with these and other situations. The good news is, these are all perfectly normal and each situation can be resolved given sufficient time, love, and understanding.
The following are some common stepfamily conflicts and how you can handle them positively, solidifying your familys unity and strength.
The Blended Family Start Off With A Statement
Its a good idea to make a commitment from the very beginning of your relationship. Couples have found that engaging in a unity family ceremony during the wedding is a great way to encourage family members to accept and love each other.
Basically, a unity family ceremony is when the bride, groom, and children all take turns pouring different colored sand into a glass jar or vase, creating a unique symbol of their unity. Families can also recite a blended family vow for the wedding to verbally signify their commitment to unity and harmony. Its a great step towards getting along with each other and is very conducive to the growth of familial relationships.
The Blended Family Decide On Where to Live
A big factor in establishing harmony in a family is your place of residence after getting married. Obviously, theres no place like home and some children resent the idea of having to move into a step-siblings house (while the original resident stepsibling doesnt have to endure the same sacrifice). A new home for everyone means the entire family has to start over and everyone is equal. It can be refreshing and exciting to move into a new home together.
The Blended Family Face and Bury Old Conflicts
If a family is formed after a remarriage, children and parents are liable to carry over hurts and resentments from the previous marriage that can affect the harmony of the new family. For example, anger towards ex-husbands or wives, disappointment in children that their biological parents wont ever work things out these things can be deeply painful to deal with.
Its best to handle these issues in a loving, non-judgmental manner, with everyone agreeing to support each other until the emotional wounds have healed. Constant verbal support and affirmation, hugs and kisses, and other forms of affection can all have massive impact on individual feelings.
Being negative and standoffish will only perpetuate ill-feelings and disharmony. Start your remarriage by being positive and strong for others in all situations.
How to Build Blended Family Relationships
The overall secret to building a strong blended family is to pay attention to the feelings of everyone involved and to build good faith between each other as a result.
Regarding the issue of discipline: a parent can start exerting authority and instating rules once he or she has earned the trust of the children. You can do this by listening, empathizing, and taking a genuine liking to a childs interests. Once you have proved you are for real and you truly care, they will trust you even when you discipline. Its all about building caring relationships above anything else.
We wish all parents and children good luck as you strive to build a strong blended family. To quote the Beatles, All you need is love. That, in a nutshell, is what makes both natural and blended families work out.

Search Engines And Directories - Understanding The Difference
Search Engines And Directories - Understanding The Difference
by Chris Angus
One thing that is so basic that it often still needs to clarified is the concept that a search engine and a search directory (article directory) are not the same thing. The traditional search engines add Web site pages to their databases automatically and then rank them in popularity in their search engine rankings based on user submissions. However, these search engines also periodically send their automatic robots or "spiders" out to "crawl" for new and updated information on websites that can also be indexed and added to the search engine rankings. Complex algorithms (that are comparable to the mysterious complex FICO Scores that are used to calculate your credit rating) calculate your web pages popularity on a number of different factor. The most famous example of a pure search engine like this is Google
Directories also qualify as a search site but they are not the same as a search engine. To get listed on a directory, you must actually submit your front page URL on the directory's submission form. Also instead of being evaluated by an algorithm, these pages are directly assessed by a human being. This means that your site is ranked according to the information that you submitted on your application. This is very different from a typical search engine that assesses your web ranking according to what is actually on the home page of your web site. The Open Directory, Yahoo and LookSmart are the main Internet directories that are managed in this way.
To make things even more difficult the search sites and the search engines work in cahoots together to boost each others rankings. Almost all of the major search engines also work in tandem with a directory which is why, for instance, a listing in DMOZ almost automatically guarantees you a place on Google.

Making The Most Out Of Your Free Adobe Photoshop Tutorial
Making The Most Out Of Your Free Adobe Photoshop Tutorial
by Mario R. Churchill
You may be having the very best of the world's free Adobe photoshop tutorials, but if you yourself are not prepared for it and not as driven to devise ways to maximize your learning, you may find yourself unable to get your money and time's worth from your Adobe photoshop tutorial. A free Adobe photoshop tutorial is very loose and does not really compel you to give it time on a regular basis. You hold the decision ultimately on what terms you are going about with the free tutorial, along with many other things.
Be Consistent
Regardless of the amount of time and type of tutorial you are under, consistency is key to be able to really make it work. Set aside a time and place for your learning. You can't just expect to learn a lot if you are not able to devote much time and energy to learning the concepts on a regular basis. It takes 21 days to make a habit, so at least get in the tutorial for 21 days at a fixed time and place so that you will be able to make the tutorial part of your daily routine online.
Set a Target
You must have a goal of completing the free tutorial if you want to be continually motivated to finish the course. That way, you will be free to take your learning to new levels and aim for advanced topics in the fastest possible time that your schedule will permit. A target will ensure that you are going somewhere and that will help you efficiently map out how you are to go about with your learning.
Apply Every Concept You Learn for Faster Retention
Merely reading the concepts won't make you a photoshop genius. You need to really install the software and apply whatever concept you learn from your free tutorial. Applying the concepts also helps you master it more quickly. That way, when new concepts build, you will better be able to integrate the new concepts with the old concepts you have painstakingly taken the time to apply. By the time you finish the free tutorial, you will be able to do it with less questions and worries, and you will also be well-equipped enough to teach others.
Get a Learning Buddy
Having someone to follow up on your progress or learn the tricks of the trade with you is one of the more efficient ways to learn. You will be able to have accountability and not be slack if you have someone to work with in learning from the free tutorial. Being able to regularly talk about your progress and goals from the tutorial will keep you in the right perspective.
Note and Track Your Progress
Have a checklist handy. There you will be able to track your progress in learning. If you happen to have things you specifically want to learn from photoshop, take note of them and list them accordingly. Mark those which you have already accomplished so that you will be able to know how capable you are becoming and how much more skill training is needed. This way, you will also be able to determine how much more time you need to practice on certain topics to further cement the knowledge that you have acquired from the tutorial.

Successfully Living on a Budget
Successfully Living on a Budget
by Emma Snow
Living beyond financial means and incurring large amounts of consumer debt are increasing among individuals and families. Whether your income is large or small, creating a budget and adhering to it, will allow you to avoid debt and make better choices about needs and wants. When you create a family budget it is not so much the size of your income that determines success, but the way it is spent. The first step is to identify payments and bills and start to allocate your monthly income accordingly. Make categories for each item such as; rent/mortgage, car payment, utilities, food, household items, entertainment, vacation, household repairs, personal spending, savings.
Budgets can be customized to fit individual and family means, as well as needs and wants. As it is identified where money is being spent, evaluating purchases and what can be cut, changed or eliminated will allow for more conscience and effective spending. Many people do not realize how much they spend on eating out, unnecessary household items or clothes. The money is gone and they can't account for where it went. This is not only damaging financially by spending more than one has, but it is less fulfilling because it is thoughtless purchasing. For many, immediate gratification in purchasing has led to a plague of debt and bankruptcy. Avoid the trap of interest and wastefulness by making clear decisions about money. Here are some suggestions to help make a successful budget.
Counsel with partner/family on a regular basis about spending
Regular communication and goal setting allows for financial success because all parties are on the same page and work together to make decisions for the family. By talking about goals it identifies concretely what the needs and wants are for the home and family and helps eliminate the power that impulse can have when shopping. Make decisions together including gifts, eating out, home improvements and personal spending amounts. Setting a limited amount allocated for each person to do with what they want without reporting gives freedom of choice, but controlled. Depending on your financial status that amount will vary and could be as little as $50 a month. It is important to keep it within an amount that can be afforded.
Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without
It seems as though the more people have, the more they want. Just getting more money is not the solution for most financial struggles. Learning to evaluate needs and what can last and what needs to be replaced is the first step to putting money in the best places and making what ever your income is, be enough. Although it is tempting to "keep up with the Jones' " comparing possessions to others and trying to have what they do will not allow for a successful budget. If items are bought on borrowed money then possessions are not a true reflection of finances anyway. Making due with what one already has will eliminate a lot of unnecessary spending and free up money for more wise purchases.
Give thought to purchases
Planning for purchases and saving before something is bought will prevent unnecessary debt and the consequences associated with it. Mindless spending has as negative of impact on the household as mindless eating does for the body. You end up with more than you need in the wrong places. Plan for what you want by making a list of most important or most desired to least important. Identifying your needs and wants will give focus and direction for spending and help prevent impulse buying. Shop around and see what is out there, what the going rate is for an item, and what a good deal would be. Watch for sales and coupons to make the best purchase.
Include savings in a budget
Living within financial means is not living on the maximum made, but planning for a rainy day. Because unexpected events can and do happen planning for such situations will prevent the debt that would have to be incurred to pay for them. The more a person saves, the better, set aside as much as possible in this area for security and protection. Regret of purchasing is much for common than regret of not purchasing.
Creating a budget will reduce financial stress. Making conscience spending choices, well thought out and followed through with will create financial freedom and power for individuals and families. Wise choices will increase the quality of life, even if the quantity of possessions is not, and greater peace of mind will be found, and that is success.

The New Face Of Giving Photo Gift
The New Face Of Giving Photo Gift
by Mario Churchill
Gifts are almost just as important as any occasion. From birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduation, and many other forms of celebration; and oftentimes people ran out of good gift ideas. If you're the one to receive a gift, you will most likely be happy with a present that is 'not so very ordinary'.
Most people give gifts like dresses, shirts, shoes, hanky, sunglasses, and other common things that you usually use everyday. It's just sad to say that although these gifts are good there are times when it just isn't enough.
Price is not the matter in question. It is always the thought that counts above every thing else. The most treasured gifts are those that came from the heart. A gift that cost a fortune but didn't come from the heart is worthless, and the receiver will not be very happy.
But wouldn't it be more satisfying to see someone overjoyed and surprised with what you gave as a gift. You can please your spouse, parents, kids, and even your friends with unique gifts.
It is not surprising that your mind will ran out of all the unique gift ideas, after all, how many family members and friends celebrate their birthdays each year. And to think that you actually give them gifts every year, oh what a wreck. Don't lose hope yet, think about your loved one's interest, what he/she likes and dislikes, and may be you'll get some good ideas.
You may find it hard to choose the specific gift to give probably because that fellow has typically everything that you can think about; or you can't find one item that will convey all your deep-felt feelings for a specific person. Spending a lot of hours in front of the computer or inside shopping malls may prove to be drastic. Then why not give a unique photo gift; it may be just the thing that your loved one will cherish all her/his life.
Photo gifts are no longer confined into the four corners of a picture frame. But if you want to give a picture portrait, it is also quite good. But because of digital photography, it is now possible to transform a particular picture or scene to just about anything; you name it, then you can have it transformed into a whole new different way.
You can upload a certain photo of memorable people or scene, or you can order anything in particular. Turn your photos into blankets, pillows, mugs, and many other things. Add a personal touch to your gift, with the help of experts; you may be able to come up with the perfect photo gift.
The new technology brought about by digital imaging brings out your creative side. This way, the thoughtfulness imparted to the receiver is sure to touch his/her heart. Simple as it is, the personal touch makes it more priced and treasured.
Photo gifts can last for quite some time, especially when it is cared for and treasured. However, photo gifts embedded in fabrics prove to last longer unlike mugs or other breakable things. Once broken, you can't put the pieces back together.

Mortgage Loans - Which one is right for me?
Mortgage Loans - Which one is right for me?
by Dave Zwierecki
There seem to literally be thousands of mortgage programs out there so how do I know which one is best for me? Finding the right mortgage program to fit your needs and your financial goals can be difficult to do unless you are working with the "right" mortgage professional and asking the "right" questions.
Which mortgage program is right for me? This is a very common question asked by many consumers. There is no one answer fits all type response that can be given. Each and every individual person has their own specific financial situation and their own financial goals and dreams. With the number of mortgage programs out there to choose from being in the hundreds and maybe even the thousands, this can be a difficult decision trying to figure out what is going to be best for you. There are interest only loans, ARM loans, Pay Option ARM loans, balloons, fixed rate loans, extendable balloons, conventional loans, FHA loans, and many, many others to consider. Therefore, so what do I need to think about when choosing a loan program then?
Some of the main factors that you will want to consider when choosing which mortgage loan is right for you are: how long will you live in your home, do you have any children attending college currently or within the next few years, is this a starter home, will you have a pre-payment penalty, are you expecting any new family members to be added to your family, how much do you have in liquid assets, are you self-employed or do you work for someone, how much longer until you plan on retiring, do you have enough money for retirement, do you have many other financial obligations besides a mortgage, do you own any other property, and many, many others. Answering these questions, or at least thinking about them before you are ready to finance a home mortgage loan can help to greatly improve your chances of finding the right mortgage loan to meet your demands.
A fixed rate mortgage is always going to provide the most stability in the long run, however since most Americans sell or refinance every 4.6 years a fixed rate does not always make the most sense. An ARM loan can provide a cheaper payment and a lower interest rate upfront for a certain number of years, but there is a lot more risk involved obtaining an ARM loan because of the uncertainty of what will happen after the fixed rate period expires on the ARM. Interest only loans are good for real estate investors and consumers who need the flexibility of being able to make only the interest portion of the monthly payments. Pay Option ARM loans can be a great way to maximize cash flow, especially for self-employed and commissioned borrowers. However, Pay Option ARM loans can incur negative amortization, which is when your balance increases instead of decreases. There are a lot of items that you need to make sure that you understand before entering into a Pay Option ARM loan. FHA loans are usually better for homebuyers, especially first time who may not have the best credit or the best overall financial situation.
Thus, find a good mortgage professional and keep him or her for the rest of your days. The more you work with one person the more familiar they will be with your situation and be able to understand where you are coming from and where you want to go. This will help to insure that you find the proper mortgage loan for your situation.

The Healing Power of Picture Albums
The Healing Power of Picture Albums
by Morgan Hamilton
Recently, my mother was confined to bed. She had to stay off her feet to take pressure off her hip and rest for several weeks. She had had surgery on her hip so in order to be sure that the hip will heal properly she had to rest in bed. Everything was going fine but I was very concerned about something. My mother is a very active person. She simply cannot lie in bed all day long. The problem was that she could easily be bored and become depressed while lying in bed. I had to think of something that she could do to amuse herself in order to prevent depression.
I knew that my Mom just needed to do something that would make her think she is still vital. I had to think of something that I needed to be done so she would be proud she was helping me. It came to my mind that I had many photos, which I had just pushed in a drawer. They were still in envelopes. I remembered that I had purchased a number of picture albums over the years. These picture albums were still empty, as I had not had the time to fill the picture albums with pictures. I took the pictures and the picture albums and I brought them to my mothers home.
My mom had troubles with her everyday personal needs so I had hired a nurse to help my mother while she was in bed. When I went to my mothers home, I was astonished to see that the nurse was intending to go. I asked her what was wrong. The nurse shared with me that my mother is getting depressed. My mom had not wanted to do anything. She was not in the mood to talk; she just wanted to lie in the dark and quiet room. She had asked the nurse to keep the curtains closed. My mom didnt even want to read a book or to watch television.
When I entered the room, she saw the box I was carrying. She asked me what is in there. I told her that there were picture albums in the box. I explained her that during the last twenty years, I have collected many pictures but I had not had the time to place them in picture albums. I told her that I needed someone to fill the pictures in the picture albums. At first, she was not very excited with the idea. She shared with me that it would be too difficult for her to spread the photos and the picture albums all over the bed.
I assured her that this was no problem at all. I rolled the bed tray over in front of her. When I helped her to sit up with her pillows, she saw she was sitting very comfortable. My mom told me that she thought I had brought too many pictures. She asked me why I needed so many picture albums.
The truth was that I had been collected these picture albums through the years. The photos were from the last twenty years that I have been married. Mom was not very curious about the picture albums and told me she would give them a look later.
I was almost sure that she would not do anything with the photos. I was very concerned about her condition. I decided to give her a phone call the next day. I was very surprised when a friend of hers picked up the phone and told me that that she was helping my mom with the picture albums. She asked me if I was able to bring more picture album so that they would be able to sort the pictures. I didnt even expect her to organize the picture albums.
A few days later, I visited my mother again. She looked pretty well. She told me that she had organized my picture albums. I was very glad that she had enjoyed herself. I told her that I had to be out of town on business for several days so that I wont be able to see her.
Ten days later when I went to see her, the box with picture albums was waiting for me. She had not only arranged the picture albums but she had had written notes and as many dates as she could on each of the picture albums. She told me that she and her friends were having fun while arranging the picture albums. Surprisingly, she was intending to start arranging picture albums for my sister next week.

Purchasing Espresso Beans
Purchasing Espresso Beans
by Jack Blacksmith
A short guide to purchasing chocolate covered espresso beans wholesale
So you know you want to purchase chocolate covered espresso beans wholesale and going online will give you the best selection and the best prices. The only thing is you arent sure how to do this and keep your credit card safe. Well, no problem this will show you how to get your product and keep your identity safe from thieves. Weve all heard bad stores about people whove had their bank accounts plundered and their identity stolen. If you follow a few simple tips you can keep safe when shopping for espresso beans, coffee, or even an espresso maker!
Buying espresso beans or any other coffee product on the internet doesnt have to be as hard as you think, you just need to make sure you know what you are doing when you want to use your credit card to shop on the internet.
You need to always be sure of what you are purchasing. Even though a web site says it has the best product on the market, make sure you read the description of the product carefully and study the photographs as well. You want to pour over the fine print and see if there are any clues that might indicate that what you are about to order is not the same as what you are seeing online. You need to keep in mind that if you think you are getting a great deal that seems to be too good to be true, than it probably is too good to be true!
You also need to take care with how you buy your products online. Before you punch in a single number online you should carefully read the website and see all the options they accept for payment and how they will ship your brand new espresso maker or yummy espresso beans to you! If your site asks you for private information like your Social Security number, drivers license number, or your bank account number then you should stay away. No one should be asking you for this kind of information to buy espresso beans or an espresso maker.
Keeping excellent records of your online purchases can keep you safe too. You will want to keep hard copies of all email correspondence, shipping information, and payment transactions. Make sure you have all the details of your business dealings with the company to make sure you get what you paid for.
If you still dont feel safe ordering things online, then you can always use a trusted 1-800 number to order over the phone. You could also request a wholesale catalog, the old fashioned way through the mail!

Welcoming the Out-of-Town Special Event Guest
Welcoming the Out-of-Town Special Event Guest
by Teresa Franko
There was a time when families and friends all inhabited the same town or even the same three or four square city blocks. For most of us, that time has passed. Career opportunities and contacts made while pursuing a higher education have led to most families spreading out across the country. However, when we plan the special events of our lives, from Baptisms to Weddings, we want to be with our family and friends to share that day regardless of the distance we live apart. As a result most special events have a number of guests who travel some distance to join the celebration.
When a guest outlays a significant amount of time and money to attend a family event, we want to be certain to show our appreciation with hospitality and a gracious welcome. There are many ways that can be done. Perhaps one of the best is with a welcome basket placed in the hotel room. Arriving tired and perhaps hungry after a day of travel, you can imagine how much a basket of goodies would be appreciated by your out of town guest.
Welcome baskets can contain an assortment of food and beverage items such as chocolates, popcorn, nuts, pretzels, sparkling cider, bottled water, flavored coffee, candy, cheese and crackers, biscotti, and cookies.
When choosing the foods to include it is wonderful if you can include at least some if not all items that are local or regional favorites. For example:
California- Ghiradelli Chocolate
New York- Cheesecake
Iowa- Popcorn
Virginia- Peanuts
Georgia- Peach Buds
Pennsylvania- Hersheys Chocolate
Welcome baskets can also be filled with items to make the hotel stay more pleasant such as a cotton throw, linen spray, bath bomb, night-light, shower gel, and travel candle.
Every hotel welcome basket should contain a welcoming note from the host. In addition, it is wonderful to add maps, the itinerary for the special event weekend and tourist type brochures. Information that the guest not familiar with the area will enjoy is often available from the local Chamber of Commerce or Visitors Bureau.
Hotel Welcome Baskets are often left at the hotel registration desk and given to guests at check-in. Of course, it would be lovely if time permitted you to hand deliver them to your guests after their arrival.
From a very small tote bag containing only some fresh baked cookies to an extravagant basket of gourmet goodies, this is the first hint that your guest will have of just how special this special event will be!

Celebration Of Faith
Celebration Of Faith
by Elizabeth Ellis
I barely remember any details on my own baptism, but my mother told me that I was named on the same day that I was baptized. It was a simple ceremony attended by relatives and close friends of my parents. And thus, I began my life as a Christian early in life. My parents organized a brief but meaningful ceremony for my baptism. There were no more that 20 people inside the church to celebrate that special occasion.
If you are organizing a baptism party for your baby, you may want to do some careful early planning to avoid possible hiccups in the event. Early planning involves making arrangements with the church, booking and confirming the venue, compiling and finalize guests list, preparing thank-you notes and gifts for all guests and the key people involved in the ceremony. If you are not sure whether you are doing the right thing, you may refer to an experienced person who had gone through the ceremony. If you have a bigger budget and do not wish to go through all the trouble, you may hire an event planner to organize the party for you. However, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to splurge on such occasion, so in this kind of situation, a low-key event can be organized. With proper planning and clever ideas, even low-key celebrations can be equally wonderful and meaningful.
Godfather and godmother are essential elements in a baptism ceremony. Parents of the baby must choose godparents for their child. The decision can be made earlier and the godparents are informed about it. Normally parents would appoint one godmother and one godfather for their child. In other places, the arrangement may be different. The decision is entirely for the parents to make. Parents will need to inform the godparents about their decision. Normally parents would appoint their closest and most trusted friends as godparents to their baby. Godparents also bear the responsibility as guardians of the child. Parents may choose to hold the ceremony indoors or outdoors. Garden party on a sunny, pleasant day would be nice. Reception can also be held in hotels and private clubs.
If you are organizing any event and want to avoid any possible glitches, it is best that you plan everything early and that includes sending out invitation cards. One month to two weeks prior to the actual event date is the recommended period for sending out invitation cards. Guests are given enough time to decide and inform you whether they are able to attend the event or not. Early planning benefits both the host and the guests alike.
In a traditional Baptism/Christening your baby will wear a gown during the service. This gown would be a long white or cream in color, it is worn by both girls and boys. Your family may have a gown that has been passed to them from other generations, but always purchase a new one easily.
After the solemn ritual ends, the baby's parents may hold a reception for their guests. This is a nice way of celebrating the occasion after some prayers and also good opportunity to get closely together with the guests. The host may choose to hold the reception at a restaurant, hall or at the privacy of the host's own home. If he chooses a public venue for the reception, he may have to make advance booking.
Light foods like burgers, drumsticks, fries, salads and soups are delightful treats for guests at the baptism reception. It is appropriate for the host to serve soft drinks and non-alcoholic drinks to his guests at the reception. It is important not to go overboard with the foods and drinks if the host does not wish to blow his budget. Another easy way is to order foods from the catering companies. If the host wishes for their guests to contribute or bring their own food to share with the rest, he may do so and inform them earlier about it. This is to allow ample time for the guests to make preparations.
It is a good idea to prepare a small favor for your guests. These are akin to baby shower favors and can be any small gift or trinket that your guests can take home to remind them of the ceremony. The baptism favors can be given at the ceremony, the reception, or both. It is also a common practice to give a small gift to the godparents. Guest also normally hand out small gifts to the parents, these usually consist of religious items for the baby such as bibles and rosaries unlike baby shower gifts .Last but not least dont forget to send thank-you cards or letters to all your guests to show your appreciation for coming to your childs Baptism.

The Appeal Of String Cheese As A Quick Healthy Snack
The Appeal Of String Cheese As A Quick Healthy Snack
by Ann Marier
Of all the different kinds of cheeses available today, perhaps none represents the needs of modern society as much as string cheese does. Taking advantage of the way some cheeses are structured, string cheese is molded, extruded, or braided into strings that can be individually wrapped for consumers.
The end result is that instead of having to cut your cheese for a snack, you need only open a small package. Because of this, string cheese makes a great, healthy snack for those on the go, from kids to adults.
Big on Health and Taste
Most string cheese in the United States is made from mozzarella, a fresh cheese traditionally made from buffalo's milk. Because of this, it is an extremely healthy snack food, containing a high percentage of the recommended amount of calcium for individuals. In addition, it is naturally low in calories, so for those who are trying to lose weight, it's a great snack to have without feeling guilty.
Despite the fact that it's a healthy food, string cheese is not overly bland like healthy foods often get portrayed as. Mozzarella has a mild flavor that's a hit with children and adults alike, having been popularized in other foods such as pizza and lasagna. Because of this, it's rare to find someone who doesn't like string cheese; it lacks appeal only to the most finicky of eaters.
Convenient Packaging
Because the shape of string cheese lends itself well to being wrapped individually, it's a common feature in the bags of people on the go, whether it's a student at school or an adult at work. The single-serving packaging of string cheese puts it on par with small bags of chips for convenience; just open the package and throw out the wrapper.
It has also found its way into many vending machines thanks to its small size, which makes it a great alternative to the other snacks available. Even if you buy it at the grocery store and take it home, the size makes it easy to slip into a purse or a book bag.
Two Warnings
There are a couple of things about string cheese that should be considered before consuming it. First, keep in mind that for those who need or want a low-sodium diet, you may be better off finding another snack. However, by soaking it in water prior to eating, you can reduce the salt content of the cheese.
The other thing to keep in mind is that while many snacks hold up well to being warmed up, only a few seconds in the microwave will change string cheese so that it does not pull apart as easily. Unless you want a pile of melted mozzarella, it's best to simply eat your string cheese as intended, and enjoy the convenience of this snack food.

US Bank Accounts For Non-Residents: A Buyers Guide
US Bank Accounts For Non-Residents: A Buyers Guide
by Martin Pavion
After spending much of June researching how to open a US bank account from outside of America I have created a guide of what you should look for to avoid frustrations, wasted time and to avoid putting your money at unnecessary risk.
If you see companies selling "US Bank Account Kits" online then realize that they are charging you money just to tell you of a bank account that accepts applicants. Their kits usually provides you with application forms and perhaps a quick guide as to what you should write in the application. There is nothing wrong with paying money as a kind of "finders fee" but understand that you will be able to get those application forms for free from the bank. I've provided a list of banks that do accept international applicants below and if you feel the need then you are welcome to contact them yourself.
Be careful about traders selling US Bank Account Packs on EBay. These people rarely have any experience opening these accounts themselves and they have no idea if their product actually works or not. Many of these people have bought the package from somebody else and they will just sell it online without even caring if you waste your money on it. A lot of loopholes have closed recently and often these packs are completely out of date and could get you into trouble.
There is a way to get a US Bank account through E*Trade which you'll see promoted. You'll be told that you can get a check book and, with a $1,000 deposit, you'll be able to get an ATM card too. You won't be told that this bank is E*Trade though but you'll see reference to it because they will mention a $1,000 requirement to apply for the "Platinum Visa Card". What these companies don't warn you about is that you are obligated to open a brokerage account with E*Trade and if you don't regularly trade in stocks then your account can be frozen. It can take MONTHS to get it unfrozen. Thee promoters also claim that you can pay checks into your account which is no longer true.
There are some companies advertising ATM cards that can be used with PayPal and E-Gold. Some of the merchants do not have strong links with any bank and there have been instances where suddenly the agent has been suspended and all his customers cards get stopped. These ATM cards operate as "direct deposit" accounts and although you'll be issued with a card, you will not have your money in your own account.
Be careful about how frequently websites are updated. Check to see if the website updates its bank fees regularly or not. If they don't then it is a sign that the website you are working with is out-of-date and the agent may not really understand the industry any more. Changes happen all the time with bank terms and conditions for international members so if you see fees that do not specify a date, check with the merchant to see if they are still current.
Don't trust websites that are not affiliated with the bank or card provider. Internet fraud is common and it is very easy for a thief to set up a website to collect your details for identity theft. Look for a direct link to and from the banks website. Also make contact with the merchant before ordering to get an idea of their response time and commitment to customer service.
If you make an application using a web form check that the website address for the orders page is secure. A secure website will begin with https:// and (depending on your web browser) should show a closed padlock to show that the site is secure.
Don't pay hundreds of dollars for administrative fees. I do believe that it might be necessary to pay extra to open business bank accounts but some companies charge over $500 just to process your application form. Often you'd be able to apply to these banks directly but the agents won't tell you which bank they will submit your application to so that they can profit from you.
Often Bank accounts for international clients come with additional fees. Make sure you investigate these before registering for any account.
Don't trust any company that doesn't require you to provide them with at least 2 forms of ID. One must have proof of your address, the other must have a photo ID. If a merchant does not request this then they are in breach of US banking laws.
Any bank or service that offers a Visa Debit card will be charged an "international usage fee" by Visa International. The charge is applied if you use your card in a country other than where it was issued. Visa's International Usage fee can be as crazy as 8% and because the fee is not charged directly by the bank many banks avoid mentioning this. Before you do anything you must ask whether you will be charged this fee or whether the bank will waive it. Nearly every bank will require that you pay this fee!

Stock Investing Tips From Brokers
Stock Investing Tips From Brokers
by Mark Walters
Very few investors have a chance to talk to a stock broker from a large firm. Even if they do find themselves sharing a conversation with a real stock broker, it is unlikely that they will learn any trade secrets. It is not that brokers belong to a secret society. Brokers are often uncomfortable talking with novice brokers because it usually ends up in an argument.
There is so much evergreen, rehashed information on the Internet, that many novices are die-hard fans of out dated investing methods long before they ever learn how the brokers invest.
Avoid Hot Stocks
This is laughable in the investment world, but novice investors are constantly attracted to the hot stocks. Unfortunately, all the big money has been made before the stock became hot.
Cash Flow
The brokers do not worry about the news, politics, or business plans and propaganda of companies. Instead, they look at the balance sheets. Avoid any company that carries a high debt, even if it is in overdrafts and open ended loans.
A company with little debt is capable of losing a massive amount of sales, go through a restructuring, and step back into the market, without loosing stock value.
Avoid Speculation
Long shots are called long shots because they almost always miss the mark. If someone walks around telling people about the next biggest boom, then experienced investors wonder how much of a cut the sales person is getting.
No company can make a simple change, merger, or restructuring, and then have their stocks shoot up overnight. Seeing stocks head down 80% overnight is quite common, but up? Almost never.
Follow the Gurus
While it is not necessary to follow the crowd, it is important to follow the gurus. Fool.com is one of the worlds most popular investors website. While no guru can get it right, most of the time, learning from the gurus can help novice investors stack the odds in their favour.
Avoiding controversial stocks and dark horses is a commandment for most guru investors.
Warren Buffett, who wrote in his 1989 annual letter:
"Easy does it. After 25 years of buying and supervising a great variety of businesses, Charlie and I have not learned how to solve difficult business problems. What we have learned is to avoid them. To the extent we have been successful, it is because we concentrated on identifying one-foot hurdles that we could step over rather than because we acquired any ability to clear seven-footers. The finding may seem unfair, but in both business and investments it is usually far more profitable to simply stick with the easy and obvious than it is to resolve the difficult."
Long Term Investing
Most new investors watch their stocks float daily. Many investors destroy their opportunities by trading too much. Stocks should be treated like a business.
The daily price of the stock is unimportant. What is important is whether the company will make more money than last year, reduce their debts, and capture a larger segment of the market.
Conclusion
Stock investing is not like trading Baseball cards, and should not be treated as suck. Avoid spam that promises quick profits, secrets to wealth, and insider tricks. Instead, follow the patterns used by real stock brokers.

My Favorite Russian Food
My Favorite Russian Food
by John Kunkle
As Lynn Visson's "Wedded Strangers" states:
If you have been lucky enough to be invited to a Russian household, you will experience the famous Russian hospitality. The feast is kind of a war between host and guests. There has to be at least six appetizers including salads, smoked fish, pate, deli meats, cheese, meat and potatoes, soup, and something sweet, usually cake.
Hosts and guests play the game of forcing more portions, refusing, more pushing, okay just a little.
Elena Petrova states on her website:
It's considered rude if you leave something on your plate when eating at a private house and you can offend the hosts. If you do not drink alcohol, at least take a glass and have a sip. You are supposed to try every dish on the table so make room in your stomach.
My wife is an excellent cook. We eat more or less in the Russian style on a daily basis.
Russians do not eat a special meal for breakfast as they do in America. To Russians, all meals are the same. You eat what is leftover from the last meal, plus anything new that is cooked to round out the choice of food.
Russian meals typically start with soup. All soups are home made. The most famous Russian soup is borscht. This is a beet soup. Ukrainian style borscht is vegetarian. Belarusians add bits of meat to the borscht and Russian style borscht usually adds sausage instead of meat.
A spoonful of Russian mayonnaise is added to the soup for flavor. The American equivalent to Russian mayonnaise is sour cream. Russians use sour cream like Americans use butter they put it on almost everything.
Potato soup. Cabbage soup. Another soup is pickle soup, made from dill pickles. Its delicious. Summer soup, made also from beets, is called that because it is served cold during the hot weather. There are more types of soup than I can remember. All of them are home made and delicious.
One of my favorite soups is Silonka. It has bits of just about everything cut up in small pieces and fried individually prior to cooking in the soup. Dont pass up a chance to try Silonka.
Beets, cabbage, and potatoes grow well in the short Russian growing season, which is why much of their cuisine revolves around them.
Probably half of all Russians have a dachau, or a plot of land in the country, where they grow food. The growing season is from May to September. Food comprises about half of the monthly budget of Russians, so raising vegetables and fruit helps to cut a substantial portion of monthly expenses.
This is very labor-intensive work, as most of them do not have any mechanized equipment or irrigation systems. Water must be brought by bucket from the stream to irrigate crops. They can fruits and vegetables for the winter season.
Pork is the most common meat, followed by chicken and fish. Beef is not commonly served. They make homemade sausage called kielbasa.
Besides soup, the main staple of the Russian is thick brown bread, called hleb. If you are on a tight budget, you can survive on soup, pronounced zoup and cleb. Its surprising how much they fill up your belly.
Draniki is a Belarusian favorite that is best described as a potato pancake with meat inside. Polish peroshkis are similar to Draniki. A dab of Russian mayonnaise is added on top.
Ploff is a dish from Central Asia. It is a spicy, rich dish, similar to Spanish rice. Frequently bits of chicken or lamb are added for flavor, plus a dab of the ubiquitous Russian mayonnaise.
Galipsi is a meat dish of ground meat and rice that is stuffed inside cabbage leaves. The meatball is first browned, wrapped in a cabbage leaf, and then boiled in a pot in a delicious sauce. You can guess what is put on top when served.
Polmeni is best described as a pasta dish with a special filling. Frequently, that filling is meat. However, cheese and fruit fillings are also used. They are usually served in a soup bowl with a special broth.
Russian salads are mixed salads like potato salad or macaroni salad, but come in much more variety. They do not serve leafs of lettuce with dressing on top as in America. A Russian would be insulted with such a serving, as if you did not want to put more effort into preparing the food.
Each salad usually has the ubiquitous Russian mayonnaise as a base ingredient plus other spices.
Usually there is a choice of two or three salads on the table. They put together combinations that seem unusual to an American. For example, there is meat salad and fish salad that is mixed together with vegetables.
Russians love fish, especially smoked fish. You have obviously heard of caviar, which are roe eggs from sturgeon. Caviar is relatively cheap in Russia and is a good choice of a gift to bring back home. They serve roe eggs from a variety of fish.
Russians like strong, thick Russian beer with their smoked fish.
When you bring a Russian woman to America, one of the best things you can do for her is to find a Russian store selling the delicacies that she loves. Whether you like Russian food or not, she will be homesick for food from her homeland.
I live one hour south of San Jose and two hours south of San Francisco. Frequently, we make pilgrimages to these cities to load up on Russian delicacies.
If there are no Russian stores near you, you can frequently buy goods through catalog sales from Russian stores in New York or places where there is a large Russian population. Where there are Russians, there is Russian food.
If you are adaptable, it is best to learn to like what your wife cooks. She is cooking to please you. If you really like something, let her know. If not, let her know that as well.
Personally, I have learned to like Russian style cooking. I dont want to do anything to discourage my wife from cooking for me. She is an excellent cook.
I know some American men, who are married to Russian women, that dont like Russian food. They are pretty rigid in their food choices. Pizza. American salads. Hamburgers or barbecued steaks.
Their wives dont cook for them nearly as much as my wife cooks for me. I eat like a king. Learn from our experiences.
Russians typically put small plates on the table, rather than large ones that Americans are used to. You are supposed to take a small portion of everything.
Leave lots of room in your stomach. Stop before you are full. Your hosts will insist that you eat at least one more serving of everything.
My mother in law stuffs me like a pig. If I dont eat enough to feed a longshoreman, she gets insulted and complains that I dont like her cooking.
I gain five to ten pounds every time I visit.

The Advantages of Web-Enabled Call Accounting
The Advantages of Web-Enabled Call Accounting
by Peter Verhoeff
What this means is that a manager or authorized employee can go to their PC, activate a Web browser, log in to the system, and access telecom reports right from their desk. This can be a tremendous time saver, especially at companies that have many branches. Of course, unauthorized persons have to be prevented from accessing the information, but this is a fairly simple matter with adequate user name and password protection. For executives to have immediate real-time access to needed reports can be of great benefit.
Instant access is but one advantage of a web-based call accounting software system. In this day and age most employees have a personal computer with e-mail capability and web access on their desks. This means that they don't need to have any special software installed to be able to access the needed reports, nor will they need costly upgrades. All that is needed is to provide them with the required login username and password.
Some employees may require limited access privileges by excluding more sensitive information that does not concern them. Normally, this can be coupled to the person's login by the system administrator, but it is important to choose a call accounting system that provides this capability.
Fraud detection is an important aspect of call accounting. This is especially the case, after the Sarbanes-Oxley act was passed in Congress in 2002, following fraudulent operations by companies, such as Enron and WorldCom. With fraud detection, it is important to have rapid access to call detail records (CDRs) in order to track down the culprits. A web-enabled call accounting system that can be programmed to issue alerts on detecting suspicious activity can be of great benefit. When shopping for a call accounting system, look for these features.
A further advantage of web-enabled call accounting is that the information can be accessed simultaneously by different users without placing unnecessary stress on the system. In particular, this is of great advantage to international enterprises that have branches in different countries. With web access, executives can obtain the needed telecom information anywhere in the world by using any web-enabled computer and logging in.

Three Stories. One Change Of Heart.
Three Stories. One Change Of Heart.
by Elizabeth Ellis
This was no ordinary Sunday. At least not for Jennifer and her family. As little baby Jimmy cooed and frantically reach for all the hands that were touching him, he was happy to be made a fuss all over. The ladies who were attending the baptism all marveled at how adorable he is. As Jennifer passed around homemade butter cookies in a favor gift bag, she heard some of them talking about her unmarried status. Nevertheless, today was about Jimmy, not her. Jimmy was her precious package now and she couldnt bear to part with him again.
Jennifer carried the baby to the altar. With every step towards the crib, she was bought back to the time when her boyfriend had walked out on her when she told him she was pregnant. Angered and ravaged at that moment, she had attempted to abort it. But now as she kisses the babys cheek, her eyes began to tear and she took back all the thoughts of that selfish desire. My beloved family and friends, we are now going to start the prayer. In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit Jennifer made the sign of the cross and bowed her head to pray.
Anyone saw my sash? On no, where did I leave it? Mala was scurrying down the hallways searching for it. At the back of the room, Nalini and Asha were arguing over the best ways to tie the ribbon. Mala nearly bumped into Sister Anita when she suddenly appeared on the door. In her hands was Malas sash. Sister Anitas stern look was enough to make the whole company quiet down as they slowly went up to her for checking.
The three girls quieted down and went through Sister Anita to make sure all of them were clean and tidy looking. All of them then head to the little chapel at the corner of St Theresas Orphanage. As the girls pass through the garden, they loose all their poise and start talking and prancing among the jasmines and azaleas in the garden. It was truly beautiful, thanks to the efforts of the students and the sisters of the orphanage. It was the least they can do after the chapel was restored from generous alms giving from the community. At least, it does not look as bad as the derelict classrooms beside it.
Sister Anita held her tongue when she saw them. She wanted to remind them about Mothers Priyanka lecture on decorum. However, as she looked at their smile, she couldnt resist but to smile with them. At that age, those girls have gone through much more than an average teenager would. They were the abandoned children of the Calcutta. Poverty, violence and abuse were the only things they had witnessed while growing up. Anita was one of the unfortunate once.
Come in children. Here, take these favors and give it to your new siblings. Mother Priyanka gestured them to the gift bags lying on the floor.
Asha opened it and her eyes went wide as a dollar coin, Chocolates! Her favourite! She hesitated for a moment but was nearly knocked over by the two friends who were pushing her to the front. All the children were excited as this was a very rare treat for them and it is the best thing they received since the beginning of the year.
Mother began to ask the children to quiet down. As she bowed her heads in prayer, she gave thanks to God as she welcomes Asha, Nalini and Mala into the orphanage and into Gods embrace of love.
It seems as if there were needles poking into his lungs whenever he breathed, Seng thought. He looked around and was greeted by the plain looking walls and the strong antiseptic smell of the ward. However, at the corner of his eyes, he saw a new wooden crucifix hanging atop of him. He struggled to wake up.
He fought back tears as he remembered his hale and hearty youth two decades ago. How long has it been. He recalled the heady days where his services business was flourishing throughout South East Asia. Blissfully married to Ai Ling, when she gave birth to their son Meng, their happiness is complete. But he fell into temptation when Minna entered the picture. It was just one brief affair!
When Ai Ling found out, she filed for divorce despite his begging and pleading, leaving Meng with him.
Life with Minna was so glitzy to the extent Seng lost control of himself, ignoring his responsibilities to the organization he build. Eventually, he lost everything but Minna still clung to him like a parasite. With no one to turn to, Meng became the victim of abuse which he then ran out of his life too. Life got much worse when he turned to beers, drugs and women as he enjoys the worldly pleasures while venting his anger at God all the time. However, when Seng was diagnosed with cancer, he began to rethink his actions and wondered if it was too late for him.
He knew that today was a special celebration at the church. Judging by the decorated eggs he had for breakfast, he reckoned it was Easter Sunday. He begged the nurses to bring him to a priest. He knew his time was near and he wanted to make amends before it was all too late. When they reached the church, Seng knocked and was greeted by a face so painfully familiar. His eyes began to quiver with tears.
The priest lifted Seng up ever so gently. Seng was weeping as he muttered the words of repentance from God.
Our Heavenly Father forgives all, but will you also forgive me, father?
Baptism an act of christening and renewing ones life without placing limitation on age, race or any earthly bounds. When we are given an opportunity to forgive our sins and welcoming Gods love, it is the best baptism favor we can give not only to us but the people around us as we share the ultimate gift of love.

Help With Data Recovery
Help With Data Recovery
by John Ugoshowa
If youve had something bad happen to your hard drive and find yourself looking for data recovery help, your probably in a hurry, not wanted to listen to hype or schemes. Many individuals who have experienced the loss of their data cannot wait, and need to have their data now. Businesses on the other hand, need to have their data up and working so that they can continue to carry out their normal day to day operations.
Anytime you experience problems with your hard drive, you can count on data recovery to recover your data. There are a few options available, the first being recovery specialists that can actually come to you. They will look at your computer and your hard drive, and first determine what caused the hard drive to malfunction. Data recovery specialists are highly skilled computer technicians, and know the hard drive inside and out.
Good specialists are those who can be there anytime you call. You dont want someone who isnt reliable, especially if you are looking to establish a relationship. If the technician is able to be there immediately, he or she is showing that they are dependable. In the event of data loss or hard drive failure, youll want someone who doesnt waste any time at all.
Another option available to you is software programs. These programs are great to use, although they must be used before you problem. You cant use them after the disaster has happened, as there is nothing there to install it to. If you install the program before hand and keep it installed, it can help you after the disaster. Most programs keep your previous data and information on file, so just in case something does happen to your hard drive, it will be available
In the event of a hard drive failure, virus, or natural disaster, there are options that you can use to recover your data. The most popular are data recovery technicians and data recovery software. For businesses and corporations, technicians are the preferred way to go. Technicians can recover your files, even rebuild your hard drive if they need to. In the event of a hardware problem, the software wont be able to do much for you.
Anytime you need help with data recovery, you should always look towards a specialist to help you. They can fix most problems, and more importantly - restore your precious data. No matter where you live, there should be specialists close by who are always on call. Most charge very reasonable prices, and will come to you in the event of an emergency. When you compare specialists to software - the specialists are by far the best option for helping you with your data recovery.

Why I Love Wine Holders And Wine Caddies!
Why I Love Wine Holders And Wine Caddies!
by Ken Finnigan
Aside from the brief mention here and there with regards to the Wine Bug or Bugus Erectus, very little mention has been made as to how versatile a wine holder or wine caddy really can be! At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I would like to point out why I love wine holders and wine caddies.
A wine holder is a great way to display that single bottle of wine that you want to set apart from the rest of your collection. Maybe you have a bottle of wine that you bought while on your honeymoon in France, or maybe its just a bottle from the market, which you think is fabulous, either way wine bottle holders are a better option to simply standing it on the counter. We all know that bottles should not be stood up because the cork can dry out and spoil the wine, so not only does a wine holder display you favourite bottle, but it also does this the correct way!
Some wine holders also double as a wine server, which makes it even more appealing. Aside from just showing off a bottle of wine, wine servers also are a great way to serve that Chardonnay or Merlot at a dinner party. From traditional to a little more eccentric, wine servers are always a conversation piece as well as a fantastic method for displaying and serving wine.
How often have you been invited to dinner and showed up with a bottle of wine in a plastic supermarket shopping bag or a brown paper sack from the liquor store? I know I have done it many times, and always feel a little awkward showing up at a nice dinner with the bottle in a brown bag that makes you look like a bum. Enter the wine caddy! Able to hold from one bottle to a few, a wine caddy is, in my humble opinion, a much better way of transporting wine. Some even hold wine glasses, which is perfect if you are looking to have a lovely picnic in the park (be aware of public drinking laws before doing this, while it might be acceptable in some places, others you could get arrested).
So this is why I love the wine caddy and the wine holder! So many styles and so many uses, I only wish I had written about them sooner!

Put Pasta Back On The Table
Put Pasta Back On The Table
by Kadence Buchanan
Pasta has existed since the days of the Roman Empire and remains one of the most versatile cooking ingredients, as no storage room or cupboard should be without it. It can be combined with meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, or even a simple herb sauce to create a mouthwatering and nutritious meal within minutes.
Most pasta is made from durum wheat flour and contains protein and carbohydrates. It is a good source of slow-release energy and has the additional advantage of being value for money.
There are as many as 200 different pasta shapes and about three times as many names for them. New shapes are being designed and named allt the time and the same shape might be called a different name in different regions in Itally. Some types of pasta are the agnolotti, anelli, bucatini, cannelloni, capalletti, ditali, elicje, farfalle, fettuccine, fusilli, lasagne, linguini, macaroni, penne, ravioli, rigatoni, spaghetti and tagliatelle. Many can be found in both dried and fresh forms, but unless you have access to a good, Italian delicatessen, it is probably not worth buying fresh unfilled pasta, even from supermarkets that sell high-quality tortellini, capalletti, ravioli, and agnolotti. Best of all is to make fresh pasta at home. It takes little time, but is quite easy and well worth the effort. You can mix the dough by hand or prepare it in a food processor. Pasta may be colored and flavored with extra ingredients that are usually added with the beaten egg.
To cook pasta, first bring a large pan of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and one tablespoon of olive oil, but do not cover the pot or the water will boil over. Quickly bring the water back to a rolling boil and avoid overcooking. When the pasta is tender, but still firm to the bite, drain and toss with butter, olive oil, or your prepared sauce. The cooking times provided here are guidelines only:
- Fresh unfilled pasta: 2-3 minutes
- Fresh filled pasta: 8-10 minutes
- Dried unfilled pasta: 10-12 minutes
- Dried filled pasta: 15-20 minutes
Pasta can be used to make anything, from soups to more substantial pasta-based meals, which are as delicious and unusual starter, or as a quick and easy lunch or light supper. Others are subtle and delicate. Combining vegetables, meat, fish and cheese with every type of pasta, from linguine to lumache, one can enjoy a nutritional and delicious meal from start to finish.

A Diwali Banquet
A Diwali Banquet
by Liz Canham
Apart from the sweets and savouries which are eaten at Diwali, the main meals vary depending on the region of India.
Traditionally, different foods are eaten on the different days of the festival. On the first day, a sweet similar to fudge, made with semolina, cardamom, saffron, nuts and raisins, is eaten as well as a spicy bean curry. Some Hindus fast all day on the second day and at sunset eat a cracked wheat porridge sweetened with sugar. On the third day lentil fritters and Indian rice pudding might be eaten but on Diwali day itself and the following, New Years Day, huge banquets are prepared.
The women spend many days, prior to the festival itself, preparing food, usually in groups. Much of this time is spent making the snack and sweet foods of which the Indians are so fond but as the actual Diwali day approaches, attentions are turned to the major feast.
A Diwali feast would normally be vegetarian due to the vast number of non-meat eaters, both Hindu and non-Hindu throughout India. Typical dishes might be:
* Channa - chick peas and potatoes simmered in a sauce of sauted onions, bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorns, cloves, garlic, fresh ginger, ground coriander and cumin, garam masala, cayenne, mace, nutmeg, turmeric and chopped tomatoes.
* Navratan Korma - a rich mild vegetable curry of paneer, carrots, beans, peas, cauliflower, raisins, cashews and tomatoes, flavoured with bay leaves and coriander.
* Khasta Aloo - cubed par-boiled potatoes fried with cumin seeds, ground coriander, turmeric, fresh green chillies and fresh ginger paste, garnished with lime juice and chopped fresh coriander.
* Malaiwale Subzi Kofta Curry - diced cabbage and spinach flavoured with ground cumin, turmeric, garam masala and salt, bound together with gram flour and fried. This is served with a rich spicy gravy of onions, tomatoes, chillies and thick cream.
* Nariyal Aur Badam Wale Chawal - Basmati rice and coconut pulp cooked in coconut milk, with the additional flavourings of two different pastes. The first is sliced almonds, green chillies, garlic, cinnamon stick, cloves and cardamoms, fried in ghee and ground to a pulp with the coconut. The second is mustard seeds, curry leaves and onions, fried in oil.
* Dal Maharani which combines three different sorts of pulses with onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and flavourings.
* Sag Dal - yellow split peas mixed with spinach, fried onion, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric, garam masala and fresh ginger, garnished with chopped coriander.
* Pooris - wheat flour bread rounds, deep fried until they puff up into a ball.
* Raita - plain yoghurt whisked until smooth and mixed with raw onion, cucumber, cumin and coriander powder and cayenne pepper.
* Various pickles and chutneys
* Kheer - a type of rice pudding made with milk as well as condensed milk and decorated with chopped nuts or mixed with orange zest and chopped orange.
Of course, these examples are not exhaustive. Any dishes not eaten as a normal every day meal would be considered special enough for Diwali.

Types Of Notebook Computers
Types Of Notebook Computers
by Roberto Sedycias
Notebook, notebook computer, laptop, and laptop computer are different terms for a small computer, which is mobile, and weighing about 1 to 6 kg or 2.2 to 18 pounds, depending upon the model. In 1979-1980, Bill Moggridge of GRiD Systems Corp. designed one of the first laptops and named it as the GRiD Compass 1101. It featured the clamshell design where the flat display folded shut on the keyboard. In May 1983, Gavilan Computer Corp. introduced and first marketed as a laptop, known as Gavilan SC. About this same time, Sharp Corp.Ltd., announced their laptop Sharp PC-5000.
In 1989, Compaq introduced Compaq LTE, which was a laptop of a smaller size, about the size of an A4 paper notebook, and it popularly came to be known as a notebook computer or notebook. Thereafter the terms laptop and notebook began to be used interchangeably. Nevertheless, the terms, notebook and laptop are incorrect terms, as due to the heat, many laptops cannot be placed on top of the lap, and most notebooks are not the size of an A4 paper notebook. However, what manufacturers usually call as a notebook, end-users prefer to call it as a laptop; hence both the terms are used.
According to the functions and the models of notebooks, they are generally classified as: Ultraportables (screen is diagonally less than 12 inches, weight is 1.7 kg or less); thin-and lights (screen is diagonally from 12 to 14 inches, weight is from 1.8 to 2.8 kg); medium-sized laptops (screen is diagonally from 14 to 15.4 inches, weight is from 3 to 3.5 kg); and desktop replacement computers (screen is diagonally from 17 to 20 inches, weight is 4 to 6 kg).
The concept of laptop was to make a device that could use the same software of a desktop computer, but much smaller in size to enable mobility and support mobile computing (ability to use the computer while in transit). Thus, further innovations have introduced transportables (which can be moved from one place to another without supporting mobile computing); tablets (which feature touchscreens and support mobile computing); ultra mobile PCs (which are very small and compact tablet PCs); internet tablets (which support internet and mobile computing); personal digital assistants (PDAs), which are pocket-sized and support mobile computing; handheld computers, which represent expensive tablets or PDAs; and smartphone, which is a PDA or a handheld computer with cellphone integration. Over the development phases, these classifications got blurry at times, and many machines fused functionalities of other categories.
Notebooks can be used for various purposes. Commercial purposes like attending phone calls, receiving and sending emails and faxes, typing out letters and printing them, making presentations with pie and bar charts, and taking data from one place to another can be achieved by any standard notebook. However, high fliers prefer thin-and-light notebooks and for regular office work, ultraportable notebooks are preferred. Both are wireless notebooks so they can be remotely accessed. Scientific purposes are best suited with a notebook that features fast computing speed, good 2D and 3D graphics display, and a large memory, like desktop replacement notebook, and a thin-and-light notebook. Artistic purposes require animation, 2D and 3D drawings, interior & exterior designing, arranging music compositions, post-production audio-video work, etc., which can be fulfilled by desktop replacements, gaming notebooks, and mainstream notebooks.
Educational institutions normally do not prefer notebooks due to its high chance of being stolen. Additionally, they prefer that their assets do not move around within the premises in the hands of students who may be careless. However, to keep up with the times, and to be considered as techno-savvy, they do invest in notebooks. The types of notebooks best suited for educational purposes are mainstream notebooks, and desktop replacements. Students need a notebook to do projects, prepare study notes, and to play some games in their spare time. They need to take the notebook wherever they go, hence, size and weight are major considerations. The type of notebook that fulfills student needs is a thin-and-light notebook with locking facility so that they can lock it with their backpack. Most students report late submission of projects due to their notebooks being stolen.
So no matter what the purpose one might have for using a notebook, it seems that mobility will always seem to be the main reason for such a product purchase. Nowadays with so many models being offered with affordable prices, it seems that notebooks will always be a product in demand. After all it is one of the best selling computer hardware for quite some time. And that says it all.

The Top Ten Baby Names of the 20th Century - The Mother of All Baby Name Lists
The Top Ten Baby Names of the 20th Century - The Mother of All Baby Name Lists
by Neil Street
We often see "top lists" of baby names -- top ten names of 2005, the trendiest, the coolest, the most popular names of the decade -- and so on. Readers find these lists endlessly fascinating, often using such lists to help them choose a name for their own offspring. But now, in what is most likely the first appearance of this set of data, comes the mother of all names lists: The Top Ten Baby Names Of The 20th Century (USA). For parents who want to know what the really enduring names are, at least in the United States, this is the list to beat all lists.
This definitive compilation of data, spanning the years from 1900 to 1999, is based on my original analysis of birth data. This "best of the century" list, based on Social Security Card applications for births in the United States, determines and ranks the top 10 boys' names and the top 10 girls' names spanning the entire 20th century. It was compiled using the same methodology as used by the Social Security Administration in compiling their most popular names of the decade lists, i.e. by totaling the raw numbers. But in this case, the time period studied is the entire 20th Century.
There are plenty of surprises: Donald in the # 13 all time spot; Dorothy in the # 9 spot for girls, followed by Betty at # 10, to name a few. It may surprise people to see Patricia at the # 2 all-time girl's spot. Plus, there are some fascinating trends revealed by the data, such as the top 10 boys' names accounting for nearly 35 million names over the century, while the top 10 girls' account for only about 15 million names, clearly demonstrating the huge variety of girls' names versus boys' names, going back to 1900.
Just as they do today, Biblical names make a strong showing on the list. On the boy's side, no fewer than six biblical names appear in the all-time top ten; on the girl's side, two names have biblical roots. This discrepancy between boys' and girls' biblical names, with boys' always being more popular, holds true today.
Given the greater volatility over time of girls' names, it is not surprising to see that some superstars of the 20th Century, such as Linda, which ranks # 3 in the century, has fallen precipitously -- all the way to # 416 by 2005. Poor Betty, # 10 in the 20th Century, has fared even worse -- the name has not ranked in the top 1000 since squeaking onto the list at # 918 in 1996.
What names are still hot? Amazingly, five boys' names from the top dozen of the 20th Century - Michael, Daniel, Christopher, Joseph and William - are still in the top twelve today. For girls, only Elizabeth (#12 in 2005) shows that kind of endurance. For more than 100 years, parents have been very traditional in picking boys' names but ready to take a chance on something new when it comes to girls' names.
So what were the Top Baby Names of 20th Century? Here are the top ten for each gender:
Boys:
1 James

How are the superstars of the 20th Century, James and Mary, performing today? True to form, the boy's name, James, is still not far from the top. It ranked # 17 in 2005. Mary, while not slumping like some of her sister names, is not doing so well. In 2005, she was # 73. More ominous for Mary, she has been trending downward since she last held the # 1 spot back in 1961. But even if Mary falls out of the top 100, it may only be temporary. Consider the name Emily, the hottest girl's name for the last ten years. 45 years ago, when Mary was # 1, Emily was # 265. Names, like most fashions, ebb and flow with the tastes of the day.

Not Too Late For Data Recovery
Not Too Late For Data Recovery
by John Ugoshowa
As most of us already know, recovering data that is lost or damaged is known as data recovery. Data recovery can save a majority of your data information, in the form of hard drives, zip disks, CDs, DVDs, and other means of storage. Data recovery is very common these days, as it can help you get back on track after your hard drive crash or other means of destruction to your data.
On the professional side of things, there are a lot of companies out there who excel in data recovery. They have technicians who are experts in recovering your data, and spend a majority of their time working on hard drives. Recovering the information from a hard drive can be a very time consuming process, all depending on just how bad the drive has been damaged. If the hard drive is damaged physical or the sectors have been damaged, some of the data that was stored on it may be lost forever.
If you take immediate action and seek a repair service for your hard drive, you just may be able to save everything. In the result of a crash, virus, accidental deletion, or other disaster, you shouldnt waste any time at all. You should always look into a company, preferably local, that can help you with your hard drive. The company will first do an evaluation on the hard drive, then contact you and discuss what options you have available with you.
To safely and efficiently recover your data using software, companies have a few choices they can use. Below, youll find some software examples that companies use to recover lost data on hard drives.
FIRE recovery
FIRE is a bootable program that can immediately take action with data recovery. It can also assist with virus scans, incident response, and forensic analysis. FIRE is a very common program, widely used by data recovery specialists around the world.
LDE recovery
Known as Linux Disc Editor, the LDE method of recovery was originally created for recovering lost files in Linux. It is an older method of software and data recovery, which proved to be very beneficial to those who used Linux.
NT recovery
The software for NT data recovery provides the proper read access for hard drives that are set up with NTFS in the Windows or MS DOS environment. This software is among the most popular for data recovery technicians, allowing them to copy files from NTFS to FAT volumes.
The above examples are all but a few among the software recovery methods. Software recovery can work with most hard drives, if they arent too badly damaged. If the hard drive has been damaged by flood, fire, or other physical damage, it will probably need to be rebuilt. Again, if you dont waste in time seeking a technician, you may be able to get everything fixed. Rebuilding the hard drive will take quite a bit of time, as the technician will have to go through every inch of the drive and replace the parts that have been damaged.
As important as your data is, its always in your best interest to get on the ball and dont let any time be wasted. Time is always of the essence, especially when it comes to recovering all of your data and information. Time will always prove to be the ultimate and deciding factor with your information - which is why you shouldnt let one precious second be wasted whenever something happens to your hard drive.

Free Online Forex Trading Courses
Free Online Forex Trading Courses
by Ricky Lim
Over recent years online Forex trading has now become big business and certainly in the financial sector this is the biggest market of all in the world. The reason why this market has grown compared to the many other financial markets is because of the rise in the number of traders working online rather than using the more traditional method of trading by using the phone. Because of this increase there are a number of sites which are now offering to people the chance of learning about this through taking free online Forex trading courses.
However as with a lot of things in life today sometimes the best things in life are not for free and certainly the same could be said for many of these courses. When you are considering taking an online forex trading course, there are a number of things that you will need to take into consideration.
1. Who is offering this course?
2. Just why is it they are offering to provide you with a book to learn about Forex trading for free?
3. Are they actually offering this course because they are promoting a particular trading site and then want you to enroll on it?
4. Once you begin to read the book do you find that they are being extremely pushy when it comes to actually getting you to use a particular website to invest your money in?
The answers that you provide to the above questions will help to show you just how honest the information being provided to you for free is.
One way of discovering if the free online forex trading course that you are looking at is of the highest standard is by looking at how much of the information contained within it is replicated elsewhere. You will soon learn that a lot of the information you find in some of the free online forex trading course books can easily be found when you search the net.
So rather than using these books or courses to teach you how to trade on the Forex market instead use the advice and articles about the subject that are being offered on other sites. Plus why not join one of the many forums that have been set up and discuss your issues with some of the people here. They are people who have been trading on the Forex market for some time and will often offer you the best advice when it comes to finding a suitable course for learning about Forex trading.
Certainly the better free online Forex trading courses are those that do not limit themselves to telling you about how one company trades. Rather it should be providing you with views of all the sites that are available and which are run by established companies. Any such courses should be prepared to provide you with everything that you need to know about the world of Forex trading and not restrict you to using the services of just one or the abilities of one company.

Advice on Buying Estonia Property
Advice on Buying Estonia Property
by John Everitt
Buying property in Estonia is a relatively straightforward and safe procedure.
The wheels of the bureaucratic machine move fairly efficiently, meaning that you could have title transferred in as little as four weeks.
Foreigners were known to have paid higher prices in the early 1990s, but the market has matured. Foreigners are developing many properties in Estonia now. This combined with the closing gap between foreign and local salaries mean that far fewer people, foreign or local, are being taken advantage of.
Most agents meet certain standards within real estate protocol and foreigners getting fleeced is not something to be over duly concerned about.
How much can I borrow?
Estonian banks and financial institutions are happy to give finance to foreigners, though the rates and conditions will not be as competitive as those given to Estonian residents.
Interest rates, however, are very competitive, and can be as low as 3 of the property value for a first property, and 50 off new properties in Estonia around 5-6 lower than the asking price. And because Estonia is experiencing a building boom, needing up to 3000 new housing units a year, haggling might be a luxury you can't afford.
Buying without an agent?
Not recommended!
Buying without a property agent in a country you are unfamiliar with, even for the most experienced property investor, is looking for trouble.
Additional Charges
The Notary is responsible for overseeing the transfer of ownership of property in Estonia.
Notaries play a necessary role in the closing process and are paid separately.
In Estonia, their fees are fixed by the state ranging from 0.4 to 1.0.
Most new builds sell off the plans and are sold complete with interior decoration. Demand in Estonia for 2- 3-roomed apartments has grown, particularly in the suburbs.
This is in contrast to its Baltic counterparts, Riga and Vilnius, where demand is largely for 1 -2 roomed apartments.
The result is a 5 more for any type of property for sale in Tallinn's old town. Demand for such properties has increased significantly over the past year in both the buyer and rental markets.
Investor's interest in new build apartments around the city centre has led to less demand for houses in Estonia. While demand has fallen, prices have remained stable, though selling times are longer.
It is possible to find bargain properties in Estonia's rural areas at extremely low prices and the past year has seen far more of these properties come on the market than in previous years.
The Buying Process
The settlement process in Estonia is fairly efficient, typically taking between 30 to 60 days, although it can be sooner depending on how quickly an appointment can be arranged with the Notary.
The Role of the Notary
The notary will oversee the transfer of ownership and ensure that it is in accordance with Estonian law. If it is not, recommendations for change will be made since the notary is financially responsible for potential mistakes or violations of the law. Once approved by the Notary, the documents are then signed in the Notary's office. Bear in mind that the notary's role is neutral. You will not be advised on any aspects of title, searches or burdens that they property may carry. The Notary will can also handle payments for the property through their account if required. Each party will be issued copies of the contract on signing at the notary office.
Notary Fees
The most equitable agreement for paying notary fees is to divide the cost equally between the buyer and the seller. Be sure to negotiate this before the meeting. There will also be a small amount of tax [state duty] to be paid by the buyer. This amounts to approximately 0.4.
The Contract or Pre-Purchase Protocol
The "pre-purchase protocol" is the agreement that commits the buyer and the seller to the property sale.
It usually requires the payment of a deposit, set at around 10%.
The pre-purchase protocol is immediately binding and under Estonian law there is no opt-out period.
Once the contract has been signed, you are legally obliged to follow through on the terms of the agreement.
Estonian property purchase contracts are generally "firm sale only".
In contrast to other countries where you may negotiate a property purchase conditional on getting bank finance or selling another property, it would be very rare for an Estonian property seller to accept conditions on a property sale.
Always beware of contracts that have been translated from Estonian to English.
A bad translation may compromise the terms of the contract. You are legally obliged to have an accredited translator with you at the notary's office to take you through the contract and to ensure that you fully understand the terms of agreement.
To ensure that the pre-purchase protocol is legally valid, it must be signed by an Estonian Notary.
Many agents however do not insist on this procedure since it incurs extras costs.
However, without a formal signing at the notary's office, the terms and conditions of the contract do not have any legal sway.
Deadlines may extend longer than they should and other problems may arise. As a final note of caution, make sure that the director of the agency you are working with signs the contract. In order for a contract to be valid under Estonian law, the director of the company and not the agents working for the company must sign the documents.
Don't expect to be handed the deeds of the property once the purchase has been completed.
In Estonia, there are no property deeds.
A notorized application is made to the Land Register to transfer the ownership of the property to the buyer in the land register book. This cannot happen until the state fee is paid.
After this process, the title is legally valid.
Public notice of the transfer must be published in the Official State Gazette, though this does not affect the title, which is secured after being noted in the land register book.
These guidelines are meant for guidance only and describe a straightforward purchase scenarios. However this information is not meant to replace proper legal advice, which we always insist you take.

Hidden Secrets Of The Best Cookie Recipe Ever
Hidden Secrets Of The Best Cookie Recipe Ever
by Jeffrey Dorrian
For many, baking is a chemistry experiment gone horribly wrong, or just maybe, wonderfully correct. The variables of oven heat, local water properties and each manufacturers subtle differences in oil and flour quality can turn the best recipe into a kitchen nightmare. The true secret is to never give up and to keep adjusting your recipe to your own taste.
One of the most common problems with cookie recipes, is what to do with the butter. Butter has amazing properties and flavors that cannot be duplicated by other oils. It does however have one of the lowest melting temperatures of all of the baking oils and can cause your cookie to flatten into a gigantic mess. Solution, integrate some equal parts of shortening into your recipe. For every ounce of butter taken away, add an ounce of shortening. Also ball and refrigerate your cookie dough before putting it onto a pan and into the oven. Lastly double pan your cookies, so the heat is more evenly distributed and no too hot on the bottom side of your cookie. This will eliminate cookies that get burned on the bottom.
I have yet to see a cookie recipe made with all purpose flour that could not be improved by substituting some cake flour into the recipe. Start with a one third substitution and see if this makes your cookie a little lighter and easier to chew. For some super added flavor, use a premium cake mix. I use a spice cake mix in one of my recipes for the most amazing Christmas cookies you will ever taste. Chocolate and vanilla cake mixes do an amazing job as well. If you have a favorite cake mix, it would be a perfect candidate to try in a cookie recipe.
Thirty years ago it would have been very hard to find a chewy cookie. Famous Amos made a fortune selling a nice tasty chocolate chip cookie that was neither soft nor chewy. Today chewy cookies are all the rage. If your recipe doesnt have any brown sugar in it try substituting a portion of brown sugar for regular white sugar. The key is to keep experiment until you have to exact consistency that you desire.
These three baking tips will help you make your perfect cookie. Everyones taste is different from each others, so dont be disappointed if someone does not care for your baking masterpiece. Remember, never give up and keep experimenting until you have the perfect cookie.

Drupal CMS
Drupal CMS
by Gaurav Panchal
Drupal CMS
Drupal is a free modular content management framework, content management system and blogging engine which was originally written by Dries Buytaert as a bulletin board system. Today, it is used by many high-traffic websites, including The Onion, Spread Firefox (Glaxstar, see below), Ourmedia, KernelTrap, and the Defective by Design campaign. It is particularly popular for building online communities, and has the tag line "Community plumbing". Drupal is written in PHP. As of January 29, 2007, the current version was 5.1.
Content Management System
Drupal has a basic layer, or core, which supports pluggable modules which enable additional behaviors. The modules available for Drupal provide a wide assortment of features, including e-commerce systems such as the Amazon Items module[1], work-flow, photo galleries, mailing list management, and CVS integration.
Drupal's modular design and well-documented, clean codebase make it easier for individuals with knowledge of PHP to write code for additional features. Drupal is often used to build sites that focus on user communities.
Modules
Drupal's taxonomy (or categorization system) enables the site administrator to determine how content is classified. Once set up, the taxonomy module can automatically classify new content. This flexibility without the need for coding differentiates Drupal from similar systems; however it also renders the configuration more demanding and in some cases more time consuming.
The Actions and Workflow modules provide an example of the high degree of automation possible with Drupal. This requires the two modules to be set up using features from both. Extensive support documentation and videos are available to help configure the Workflow and Actions modules to achieve tasks such as sending out notices of new content.
Drupal achieves clean integration between the core and the modules via a system of hooks, or callbacks, to allow modules to insert functions into Drupal's path of execution. Drupal core provides protection against many of the usual security problems, like SQL injection.
Themes
Most themes for Drupal are written in the PHPTemplate engine or the XTemplate engine. Earlier templates used hard-coded PHP.
Earlier versions of Drupal's theming system were criticized [6] as being less design-oriented and more complicated than the systems for Mambo and Plone. The inclusion of the PHPTemplate and XTemplate engines in Drupal has addressed some of these criticisms.

Selecting a Colocation Facility
Selecting a Colocation Facility
by Robert Dupree
Selecting a Colocation Facility
Communications and data access are integral for business operations. Websites, email and messaging services, and servers have to be up and protected for business communications to function. Data centers that house mission-critical infrastructure the most vital parts of the company network, like servers and databases must sustain the power, climate-control and connectivity that network infrastructure demands.
Redundancy
The colocation facility should have redundant systems, with sufficient capacity, at every point of operation, from climate control systems to network equipment. Having multiple units for to handle capacity is not the same as redundancy. All systems should be in an n+1 configuration; for example, if there are two units, they should both run at less than 50% capacity so that if one fails, the other can still handle the load; if there are three units, then they should be at 66% capacity.
Superior Connectivity
Several factors determine the quality of a colocation centers Internet connectivity:
* The number of Internet backbones
* Total available bandwidth
* Latency, packet loss, and jitter
* Uptime
Colocation data centers provide Internet access to tier-1 carriers, tier-2 carriers, or carrier-neutral access. Tier-1 services provide direct access to one of the major Internet backbone networks, like AT&T. Tier-2 providers routes traffic among multiple tier-1 providers, and reliability and speed are influenced by how effectively traffic is routed. Carrier-neutral access allows service from any carrier, but requires that customers configure their own routing and maintain their own connections to Internet backbones. Tier-2 access is preferable because routing is configured by the colocation facility and its more reliable because more backbones are available, which increases uptime and network performance.
Load-Responsive Routing
The way that Internet traffic is routed, both the hardware and routing logic, has a significant effect on connectivity. Effective routing covers three areas:
* Redundant routers and switches with full capacity for all customers
* Performance-based routing, which continuously adjusts routes to find the most effective one, rather than the least expensive
* Routing among more than three, and preferably four or five, Internet backbones
A hardware-redundant, dynamically adjusting routing system creates a self-healing network that offsets backbone problems, traffic and load, and hardware failures so that service doesnt suffer.
Climate Control
The design of the facility itself has an impact on the performance of systems housed in the colocation center. Server rooms should control air flow between rows. The heat generated by servers is blown in one row, and cool air can be drawn in from another row. Designated hot and cold rows circulate the air to keep servers from overheating.
Appropriately-sized and redundant climate-control units create cold air and control humidity. Servers have strict climate requirements, about 72 degrees and 45% humidity. Colos must have both chillers for the facility climate control and computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units for the server rooms. The capacity for cooling units is calculated by dividing the total tonnage by the square footage. For example, if there are two 50-ton chillers and a 4000 square foot facility, the chiller capacity is 0.040 tons/foot. Chillers and CRAC units should each have a capacity of 0.30 tons/foot or higher.
Power
If there is a failure of the primary power source, the generators and UPS are vital to keep the network online. The UPSs run the servers while power switches from regular electricity to generators, and there must be generators onsite for immediate backup power. The power system should have the following features:
* Failover practices for switching to redundant generator and UPS systems
* Multiple, redundant UPS, systems, since UPSs fail routinely
* A generator large enough to handle 1.5 times the normal building load
Making a Decision
Keeping servers offsite can be a good decision logistically, but only if the data center provides a reliable, secure network environment. Look for potential pitfalls, where service may not offer enough reliability or performance:
* Non-redundant power, cooling, or Internet connections
* Insufficient backup power or non-redundant UPSs or generators
* A low number of Internet backbone connections or substandard routing methods
* Insufficient cooling systems
* Poor uptime record

Translation Matters - Helpful Tips for Translation Service Buyers
Translation Matters - Helpful Tips for Translation Service Buyers
by Thomas Mayhew
A number of rather comical translation faux pas have been brought to my attention over the past days. It is true that not all translations are created equal. Equally true is that translators are not all created equal. Of course, I use the term "created" in a very loose sense here as I believe a translator is a product of his or her effort, training and attention to detail. If you are seeking an excellent translation or must oversee a translation in any capacity, I have a few useful tips for you.
To achieve an excellent translation of important material, I highly recommend retaining a translation service provider with a good reputation. My wife works with a number of extremely high quality translation service providers. But sometimes you can play a very important role in assuring an outstanding translation.
First of all, what gives with good translation? How do you know, if you do not have command of both source and target languages, whether or not you have achieved an optimal translation? As a person responsible for procuring the retention of language expertise for proper pharmaceutical labeling of medicines in another language or any other imaginable position requiring translation oversight, how do you know when you have achieved success?
I have experience from three distinct vantage points. The first perspective, from which I can speak, is as an executive responsible for translation of very technical language within advertisements. In a later article, I will speak from the perspective of one married to a Professional Translator, which has given me tremendous insights on issues of quality.
As a rule, it helps to be detail-oriented or perhaps even nit-picky to ensure proper rendering into another language. It also helps to be hands-on, that is, a grab-the-bull-by-the-horns type of person to take responsibility for the translation process and the end-product. By nit-picky, I am not saying that you should by any means be frivolous in your pursuit of perfection. But only nit-picky in the sense of working vigorously in order to catch what could be a stumbling block to your target audience. It takes great diligence to ferret out translation problems when you are not a native speaker. In fact, a corollary truth to the axiom introduced at the beginning of my diatribe (ahem article) is that not all native-speakers are created equal either.
Assess the resources within your organization, such as people that have specialized knowledge of the subject. Someone may have either limited or excellent command of the target language. Use that person (in the good sense). You can ask them what they perceive as likely problematic language in the source text. That is, text that is likely to be difficult to render in another language. Further, you can consider translation options for problem text and the tradeoffs in choosing one option over another. During the edit and proofing stages, you can use the same person (or people). This feedback can all be rolled into your review process with the translation agency.
In one case of a very difficult translation of English to Chinese (Mandarin), I was fortunate that I had a technical expert in the field of Global Positioning Systems with significant target language knowledge (a native speaker) to assist in the review process.
For many languages, neither the specific idea nor a given word needing translation even exists, such that it can be a real challenge to translate certain words.
For instance, the English word triage has been transliterated into several languages, because the idea as a specific word does not exist in many languages.
Use (with great fear and trembling) a free online language translator, such as found at Babelfish. As a reality check on the quality of the translation you are obtaining, translate some text and then translate the translation back into your source language. That will give you a rough idea of what your target readers would see should you make the potentially terminal mistake of using such a translation for a text of any importance (or public consumption).
If you need something more precise, try a forum where you can ask an expert. Translators Cafe is such a resource. As an example, you can go to www.translatorscafe.com/cafe/member6461.htm to see my wifes profile at Translators Cafe.
If you choose this option, you should be mindful that there is a limit to what Professional Translators will do for free on these forums. You might, judging from the quality of the responses you obtain, decide to hire one of the freelance translators as an editor or proofreader to perform a quality check for you. As a rule, review the profiles of the potential translators, editors or proofreaders. Ask them questions and compare the responses. In some cases, a simple check of their responses will give you some indication as to how good they really are. That is, if their response is careless or contains errors, you really need to cross them off your short list.
For translation, the rate is sometimes hourly, but is usually by the word. A typical Professional Translator will charge between $0.10-$0.15 US/word on average. The relative difficulty of the source language will be a determining factor in the per-word rate you will likely be offered. Typical editing rates average between $30 and $35/hour.
Of course, if the company budget allows and you have absolutely no time, you are well advised to retain a top-notch translation service provider. Even in doing so, you should not assume that you can then close your eyes, receive the translation and be done with it. In fact, with respect to the English-Chinese translation for which I was responsible, I did hire an agency with a sterling reputation and they performed with excellence. However, because of my diligence in checking with my in-house experts and my foreign country representatives, I was able to obtain a much, much finer translation product. I managed to do so without upsetting the translators or the translation manager.
When you do actually begin your translation review/feedback process, be sure that you present your questions in an orderly manner, so as not to annoy the person performing or coordinating the work. Be mindful of their time. Try to minimize the number of times you go back and forth over the text.
Are you drawing a blank as to where you should start with respect to evaluating target language text or even evaluating the service provider? You can see some of the items we check for when editing a translation, at www.albanian-language.com/editing.htm. Ask your potential translation service provider what they look for in providing a quality translation. If they seem clueless or give you a blankstare.com look, pass them by, as you deserve better.
As an executive, even though I did not know the target languages of the translations for which I was responsible, I was able to spot some potential problems and needed improvements that were addressed during the review process. My diligence paid off and my on-site language expert played a critical role in winnowing out the finest of details. The bottom line is that you need to assess and utilize all the potential resources that you have available to you to ensure a well-done translation product.
With respect to the other two vantage points from which I can speak, I will have to leave something to your imagination for now. I will write another article on these two subjects at another time. For the next article, I will share significant insider insights, gleaned from a professional translator. The title however, will be Translation Matters - Insider Insights gleaned from a Professional Translator.

Put The Sparkle Back Into Christmas Hamper Shopping
Put The Sparkle Back Into Christmas Hamper Shopping
by Andrew Regan
Indulgence at Christmas is as traditional as Mistletoe and Wine which is why hampers continue to be so popular at Christmas time. Receiving a hamper is like receiving a large box of goodies - you just don't know what you are going to pull out next, will it be a box of after dinner mints or a jar of cranberry sauce?
Christmas hampers are traditionally sent as Christmas gifts for hardworking employees, valued clients or for family and friends. They can contain standard Christmas fayre such as Christmas puddings, brandy butter and a good bottle of red wine but these days we have many more options with hamper companies offering different themed hamper choices.
But our natural enthusiasm for Christmas hamper gifts is dampened by higher costs and lower quality goods. Some companies that provide a hamper service at Christmas are under increased pressure to raise costs. Finely packaged luxury food items are understandably expensive and Christmas hamper producers must try to make a profit.
Many of us are also wary following the close of Farepack, a Christmas hamper company that has gone into administration leaving it's customers without their hampers at Christmas and little chance of getting their money back. This is devastating news for families who have made regular year-round payments as a way of saving for Christmas.
Christmas's past are engrained in our memories. It's easy to be nostalgic about the way things were and we want to recreate the warm fuzzy feeling of a traditional Christmas. Because of all of this, it is now the next new trend to send or receive a Christmas hamper as a gift to a friend, colleague or client. So how do we get the sparkle of the Christmas hamper gift back?
To create a luxury Christmas gift, without suffering expense and disappointment, there are a couple of possible choices available. The first is to put on our creativity hats and make a do-it-yourself hamper, the second is to trust in the smaller, niche Christmas hamper outlets to supply quality local produce.
The specialist companies that can provide a bespoke service and luxury Christmas hamper ranges online can ensure a polished end result with a luxurious gift that reflects the valued relationship between the hamper giver and the recipient. These companies can source high quality and hand crafted local products to make a truly special Christmas hamper.
For a more personal touch, hamper contents can be bought cheaply from specialist stores or bulk suppliers. Decorating it and filling it can be a fun and rewarding, but time consuming, experience.
Creating or purchasing a bespoke Christmas hamper will provide the giver with the control to ensure that the recipient gets exactly the gift that is required, and as well as being able to determine the content and the overall price.

How a Tribute to Veterans Can Emphasize the Value of Family
How a Tribute to Veterans Can Emphasize the Value of Family
by Phyllis Goldberg, Ph.D.& Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D.
Veteran's Day gives us all an opportunity to pay tribute to people who, over the years, have endured hardship and made sacrifices to protect our freedoms. Some people attend services or parades, others remember more quietly. How do you express your feelings of patriotism?
This process of appreciation has many parallels to our own relationships at home. As you remember the veterans of all wars, reflect on the following ideals as they apply to your own family:
1. Identify, for yourself, the significant components of what gives life meaning and what constitutes personal well being, within the context of family.
2. Value each family member's individuality, uniqueness and independence. Let them know how much you respect these qualities.
3. In moments of frustration, recognize that they are ordinary people who have been put in extraordinary circumstances.
4. Try to understand why they feel the way they do and why they do the things they do by putting yourself in their shoes.
5. Acknowledge the depth and richness of your family life and relish the complexity of it all.
6. Feel the embrace, the protection and the support of the family unit as a whole. Express your gratitude for all that it provides for you.
How can you create positive thoughts about your family relationships on a daily basis? Find the special ways to honor them as you work to increase the bonds of family unity.

Advice On Buying Property In France
Advice On Buying Property In France
by John Everitt
Depending on the property and even the area of France, the laws on buying and selling Property in France can vary somewhat.
Be careful with the capital gains tax, as this is chargeable on all second home sales owned for less than two years at a rate of 33 deposit would be paid at this point (which would be held in a secure account until the completion).
The property would be withdrawn from the market and the legal system would commence its checks etc.
At this stage if the purchaser were to back out of the contract you would lose your deposit.
Normally the final contract would be signed by both parties at the Notary's office and at this stage the deeds would pass to the buyer and the land registry updated.
The balance of the property purchase price would be paid to the Notary who will then pay the vendor.
You will need to provide the Notary with a copy of your birth certificate translated into French and, if applicable, a copy of a Marriage Certificate, also translated.
Lawyer
We recommend that you enlist the services of a French Lawyer or Solicitor in the purchase of your French Property, preferably one who speaks English.
This will help to protect your interests in the property purchasing procedure.
This will be in addition to needing a Notary who is mandatory for property purchases.
Fees

Of Course You Can Develop Products
Of Course You Can Develop Products
by Pat Wiklund
Virtually every One-Person Business owner I've worked with has both products and services. Some of them just don't realize what they have. Don't let thinking you only provide service, don't have products, or don't know how to get started, slow you down. Time to learn from OPE (other people's experiences).
Look at what your competitors and colleagues offer in addition to their standard/professional services. What do they offer on their web sites? What have they published? What complimentary materials do they offer clients and potential clients?
One client of mine was surprised to realize that one of the services she bundled into her consulting--documenting how and what she had been doing for the client, her processes and procedures--was as valued by her clients as her consulting services. She hadn't mentioned the documentation in her sales pitch, just added it to the deliverables at the end of the project. She didn't realize she could charge more because she was providing more service.
Develop products that sing to you. I love to write special reports, five - eight page expositions of a single topic or addressing a specific issue or question. Usually these come from issues or discussions that arise when working with my clients. As I puzzle out the answers, it becomes clear how helpful the information could be for others.
One colleague hates to write, but put her in front of a video camera and she comes alive! Most of her products are video based, not written. Another prefers to service her client base with teleseminars. All her products are recorded live with existing clients, and then bundled with excellent workbooks, real-time videos demonstrating step-by-step directions, and follow-up autoresponder series adding value and easily implemented next steps.
Develop products and services that fit your life and lifestyle. One seasoned professional loves nothing better than going to another part of the country, preferably for a long-term consulting assignment. She enjoys getting to know new people, places, and local highlights. Me? After doing that for more than thirty years, I'm ready to stay home with my cats, garden, and family, working more on the phone and the Internet.
Of course, your products have to fit your clients. If you are targeting high-end executive coaching, your most effective piece just might be a four-color, printed white paper, rather than a downloadable special report. Both the format and design of your products, and the fees you charge, should reflect market prices, and your marketing collateral and web site be congruent with your executive look.
If you're working with start-ups, you'll need a more aggressive look. With governments, stability and seriousness. With co-operative nursery schools, a playful, fun look might be more appropriate.
Whatever your business, your life style, or your client base, start developing the right product mix to leverage your impact on your clients and your bottom line.

Sushi The Japanese Delicacy
Sushi The Japanese Delicacy
by Chris McCarthy
Sushi is a Japanese dish, popular all throughout the world. Sushi lovers, young and old alike, mistakenly think Sushi refers to raw sea fish. Sushi actually means vinegar-flavored rice and the raw food accompanying it are called Sashimi.
Types of Sushi Preparations
There are five kinds of Sushi preparations like Nigiri, Maki, Temaki, Chirashi and Inari Sushis. Sushi rice is the staple ingredient in all of them. The types are determined by the kind of fillings or toppings used. The same ingredients can be served, assembled in both traditional and modern ways.
-Nigiri Sushi is the most popular form of Sushi. It is served with an oblong mound of rice topped by wasabi and a thin slice of egg, seafood or any meat. While the egg is always served cooked, the seafood and the meat may be raw.
-Maki Sushi is served rolled in nori, which is a kind of pressed seaweed. The rice, seaweed and the toppings are rolled into a cylindrical shape using a bamboo mat. The roll is then sliced into various thick and thin pieces. The California and Boston rolls are examples of this Sushi.
-Temaki Sushi is similar to Maki except that it is hand rolled into a cone and is not chopped into small pieces.
-Chirashi Sushi: A rare Sushi, it consists of a bowl of rice with toppings of Sashimi or raw seafood or fish.
-Inari Sushi: Rare than even Chirashi are served as fried pouches of tofu stuffed with rice.
Ingredients for cooking up the best Sushi preparations
Rice: All Sushi preparations use short grained Japonica rice mixed with a dressing of rice vinegar, sugar, salt, kombu and sake. The right stickiness is its essential quality.
Nori: These are wrappers made from sea weed, a type found in Japan. It is toasted before use. Nori by itself is edible. There are many kinds of nori but the best quality is used in Sushi.
Toppings used in Sushi
Fish: For culinary, sanitary and aesthetic reasons the fish eaten raw must be fresher and of higher quality than fish which is cooked. In fact, professionals are employed to select the fish. Fish served raw are sea fish like tuna, mackerel and salmon. Fresh water fishes are cooked and never eaten raw since they are likely to contain parasites. The most valued Sushi ingredient is toro, the fatty cut of tuna. Toro comes in many qualities.
Sea food: Squid, octopus, shrimp and various shell fishes are used for sea food.
Vegetables: Pickled Daikon radish, pickled vegetables, fermented soya beans, asparagus, yam, tofu and gourd are some of the topping vegetables.
Red meat: Beef, ham, sausage and horse meat, often lightly cooked, are used for toppings.
Eggs: Slightly sweet layered omelettes and raw quail eggs are used as toppings.
Condiments used for preparing Sushi
The three main condiments are:
- shoyu which is soy sauce
- wasabi which is the grated root of the wasabi plant. Real wasabi, called hon-wasabi has anti-bacterial property which prevents food poisoning.
- gari which is sweet pickled ginger, cleanses the palette and aids in digestion.
Presentation is most important
Traditionally Sushi is served in an austere style in single or double tone colored plates. In smaller Japanese restaurants, plates are dispensed with, and the dish is had straight from the wooden counter. However in many places, particularly in U.S., a European sensibility has been imparted in to Sushi serving, resembling French cuisine.

Organize Clutter Clusters For Increased Office Productivity
Organize Clutter Clusters For Increased Office Productivity
by Denise Landers
How can you make your work area more attractive so that you enjoy being there and can focus specifically on the work at hand? The more clutter you eliminate, the more peaceful the setting will be, and therefore the more productive your time will be.
Photos. You may consider a photo of loved ones as a pleasant reminder of why you work so hard, or as a conversation-starter to get acquainted with new clients. However, photos can quickly accumulate, lining windowsills and shelves, tacked to walls, and taking up valuable desk space. These photos have accumulated over the years, as new ones are added without replacing the older ones. If you like photos, keep just one or two current ones.
Giveaways. How often do you take something from a vendors display table just because it is free? Then you drop it on your desk. How many stress balls or letter openers do you need? When you have too many, they go into the drawers, onto the windowsills, etc. More than one has no useful purpose.
Memorabilia. Do you really need the little Eiffel Tower from Las Vegas, or the Florida seashell? Sometimes these end up in the office because they do not fit into the house dcor. They can encourage chitchat as you exchange vacation stories, and then you wonder why interruptions take up so much of the day.
Certificates. Framed degrees and licenses lend credibility to an individual when they relate directly to the business being transacted. However, spreading around all the certificates you gather from continuing education classes gets to be overkill. Choose to display only the most significant documents if youre in a situation where clients visit your workplace.
Books and CDs. Any books that are not related to your business and that are not used as references should be moved to another area, taken home, or donated. If you ordered a set of tapes for your business, have listened to them, and know that you will not do so again, consider selling them at a reduced price to someone else in the field. If you want to keep them for reference, find a way to store and catalog them instead of leaving individual disks strewn around.
Computers. Do you have an older printer stuck in a corner? Box unused computer hardware and store it. Donate older computer parts and get a tax deduction for a contribution to a local charity. What about the extra hard drive, cables, and phone cords? One spare of each item should be enough. How many stray CDs are laying around, and you have no idea whats on them?
Artwork. Drawings by children and grandchildren are precious, but covering a bulletin board or the wall of an office does not lend itself to a professional feeling. If you want to display one or two sketches, frame and hang them. Let the others rotate on your refrigerator.
Miscellaneous. Tools laying around left over from a jobsite or related to a small repair do not need to stay in your desk area. Look around and see how many things are not related to the type of work you actually do in your office. This desk area should not be the companys storage space.
Anything surrounding you that is not useful, beautiful, or treasured by you, should be disposed of in some manner because clutter is messy, inconvenient, and sometimes embarrassing. It affects your space, your time, and your peace of mind.

Closing The Job Interview
Closing The Job Interview
by Carole Martin
"When do I start?"
That's about as aggressive as you can get at the close of the interview. It may knock the interviewer for a loop, and might appear to be overly aggressive, but some people think of it as "closing the sale." And for some people it has worked. For others this approach may not be comfortable, or have a negative same effect.
Whether you are aggressive, passive and polite, or somewhere in between, will depend on your personality, the interview situation, and the job for which you are applying.
Closing Points
Regardless of your style or how you choose to close the interview, there are some key points to keep in mind.
1. Leave your interviewer with the right picture of you. (Think of at least five skills or traits you want remembered after the interview.) Choose something "concrete." When you answer with, "I have great communication skills and I am a hard worker," you will not stand out.
Example: "I have two skills that are distinctly different but that define my personality. I am a very good pianist and an excellent 'computer guy.' I'm known for my love of keyboards."
2. Ask if there is anything else you can provide. (References, background information, or samples?)
Example: "Is there any other information that I can provide that would convince you that I am the right person for this job?"
3. State your interest in the position. (Sound interested and tell what added value you can bring to the job.)
Example: "From what you have been telling me about this position, and from what I know about your company, I know that I have the right mix of experience and education to bring value to this position. Based on past experiences I can "ramp up" quickly and be on board with projects within the first few weeks."
4. Ask about the next step in the process. (Important for you to know for follow up. Ask for the decision date, if possible.)
Example: "I'm interested in knowing what the next step in the process is and when you will be making a decision in order to follow up."
5. Find out how to contact them. (If you don't hear back, you will need to know who to contact and whether they will accept calls to check the status.)
Example: "I'd like to stay in touch and follow up with you in a week or two to see how the process is going and where I stand. How do you prefer that I communicate with you email or phone?"
Closing the sale is important, but your closing should be tailored to the position; your personality and interviewing style, and the interviewer. Keeping these things in mind will help you determine which closing is appropriate for you and the situation.

The Farrell Clan History
The Farrell Clan History
by Clan Farrell
Farrell being, by far, the most common spelling is thus the name for the clan is the Anglicized form of the Gaelic name Fearghail (fear man + gal valour), (source: "A Dictionary of Surnames". Oxford, 1994.), King of Conmacne who was slain by the Danes in A.D. 1014 at the Battle of Clontarf (NE Dublin).
The O'Fearghails were one of the four chief clans of the Conmacne {race of Conmac (son of legendary Fergus MacRoigh and Queen Maedhbh (Maeve)}. They were the princes of Annaly (roughly the Irish midlands); their chief seat of power was Longphort Ui' Fearghail (O'Farrell's fortress) (present-day Longford town). (source: "Farrell Clan-a brief history" by Hugh Farrell).
The clan lost most of their lands during the colonial confiscations of James I in the early 17th century, with many of the clan members becoming tenants of the new English and Scottish landlords in what was now County Longford.
The Farrells have been associated with this midland region for almost 1,000 years. The Farrell Clan lost its control of the area just over 300 years ago when they were forced to take flight and lived abroad for 150 years, before returning to an uncertain future, the majority settling in County Longford and others settling elsewhere. Farrells are presently plentiful in the county, but the big numbers live elsewhere, mostly in Dublin.

Cognac: The King of Brandy
Cognac: The King of Brandy
by Jennifer Jordan
Before I got into wine, I didn't know much about it: I thought Bordeaux was used to make bread, I assumed wine in a box was as good as any, and I figured that Cognac was the name of the guy who wrote On the Road. It turns out, I was wrong on all points.
Even as I learn about wine, write about wine, and drink all kinds of wine, I still must admit that I don't know everything. Truth be told, wine is such an extensive subject that it's nearly impossible to possess every single seed of knowledge. Take for instance, Cognac. While maybe not an accomplished author, it is still a drink rich with complexity and sophistication.
Essentially the king of brandy, Cognac is produced in the Charente and Charente-Maritime regions of France; it gets its name from a local town. The anal-retentive drink of the alcohol industry, Cognac must be made under extremely precise regulations. Deviating from these regulations even slightly turns Cognac into regular ol' brandy.
Seven areas in France are designated for Cognac production. Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Borderies produce the majority, but Fins Bois, Bons Bois, Bois Ordinaires, and Bois Communs tend to squeeze out a drop or two. Each area creates a unique drink, but all are of high quality: they each have a knack for Cognac.
The grapes used for Cognac are very exclusive: no matter how many beg to be picked, only certain ones are. First of all, Cognac must be at least 90 percent Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, or Colombard grapes. Ugni Blanc carry the most weight (some Cognac is made solely of this grape), with Folle Blanche and Colombard grapes minimally represented. The remaining ten percent may, by law, include other varieties of grape. These varieties are typically specific and, like a grape involved in drama club, highly eccentric.
Dissimilar to other brandies, Cognac must be distilled twice in copper pot stills. After the second distillation, the heart of the Cognac, or the eau-de-vie, is placed into barrels made from the oak trees of the Troncais or Limousin forests. Here, the eau-de-vie must be aged for a minimum of two years, though most is aged for much longer. Still, Cognac isn't allowed to get too old: it's usually not kept barreled up for more than five or six decades; it does, after all, have things to do.
The age Cognac can be somewhat confusing (cutting open the brandy and count its rings doesn't work). A system does, nonetheless, exist to help you understand the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend. A VS (very superior) or three star label is for the youngest, meaning that all the eau-de-vies in the blend are at least two and a half years old. A VSOP (very superior old pale), a VO (very old), and Reserve label is for the middle child, meaning that all the eau-de-vies in the blend are at least four and a half years old. A XO (extra old), Napoleon, Extra, Vieux, and Vielle Reserve is for the eldest, meaning all of the eau-de-vies in the blend are at least six and a half years old.
It's important to keep in mind, however, that this system of labeling is used only to determine the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend and not the average age of the Cognac. For instance, a Cognac could be blended with a two year old eau-de-vie and a sixty year old one, possessing an average age of twenty nine years.
Whether young, old, or somewhere in between, Cognac produces a smooth, rich, and well balanced taste with flavors of smoke, soil, fruit, vanilla, and honey. It's a drink people tend to nurse: chugging it, shooting it, or sipping it through a straw just doesn't seem to do it justice.
One of the more expensive drinks, Cognac isn't something you will ever find on the clearance racks of your local liquor store. For this reason, it's not something you're likely to find yourself drinking frequently: it may just be reserved for special occasionslike pay day.

Serving Wine at Holiday Parties
Serving Wine at Holiday Parties
by Jennifer Marie Jordan
Hosting a party can bring about a great deal of stress. You may find this true for any kind of party, but it seems to be particularly true for a party thrown around the holidays. For some reason, the holidays are a time when parties aspire to be a little grander; they need to have tastier food, more elegant alcohol, and those who are hosting it need to wear red and call each other by names like, Dearest.
While a holiday party is something you will likely want to throw well hoping to impress your friends, your relatives, and your next door neighbor whose front lawn animatronics nativity scene makes your decorations look inferior you will also want to save some room on your credit cards for all your holiday shopping.
This may seem to pose a bit of a problem, as if you are forced to make the choice of throwing a great party or buying presents for your children, children who as they contact social services and attempt to get on Oprah probably wont be too forgiving if the holiday season finds you empty handed. However, throwing a great party doesnt have to drain your bank account; there are ways to have a party that is both festive and frugal. Because alcohol is generally one of the most pricy party expenses, buying wisely is the first step in throwing a party that will leave both your social circle, and your children, still talking to you.
Have a Variety
Some people are under the impression that hosting a party involves purchasing the most expensive wine they can find, wine that would impress even the most seasoned connoisseur. However, when it comes down to it, the price of wine is not nearly as important as the variety.
Holiday parties typically consist of a large spread of food. From the pt to the cheese balls, the months of November and December are like a giant buffet. Because of this, its important to cover your bases and purchase wine that is adaptable, wine that all types of food consider easy to get along with. The simplest way to do this is to cover all your bases by purchasing both red wine and white wine.
For red wine, Merlots, Shiraz, and Cabernets are all good choices, with white wines best bet being Chardonnay, though a nice Alsatian Riesling is also a great choice. While there are certain vintages that are expensive, its relatively easy to find bottles that arent extremely high priced; with some searching, or asking the clerk at the local liquor store for help, you can buy red and white wines that wont take away your ability to go holiday shopping, leaving you, ultimately, to holiday shoplift instead.
Serve White Zinfandel
When choosing a wine to serve at a party, White Zinfandel is an extremely popular choice. This is simply because people drink it up. A chilled beverage, White Zinfandel is light, sweet and low in alcohol content, which makes it a popular choice for folks who are driving. One of the least inexpensive, with many bottles costing around five dollars, White Zinfandel is a preferred choice of many party hosts everywhere.
A Box is Your Friend
There is an unfavorable stigma attached to box wine, like lawyers or people obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons. But, box wine is often a party staple. This is because its inexpensive, its convenient, the leftovers wont spoil, and even if you dont enjoy the taste of it, many others do.
Box wine was once the laughing stock of the wine world: people often equated it with cheap wine, it was only purchased by those who had a cash flow problem, and cases of Pinot Noirs were often found pointing and laughing, mocking the box wine from the comfort of their glass bottles. However, over the years this stigma has gone down the drain, and the box wine of today now stores a variety of wine, including wines that are premium.
Appease the Wine Folk
While White Zinfandel and box wine may quench the thirst of some, many wine connoisseurs prefer something a little different, believing that drinking anything other than a unique holiday wine is the equivalent of drinking from the water bowl in the Christmas tree stand. Because of this, its a good idea to have a couple of bottles of something a little interesting.
A fun holiday wine that is great to serve at a party is the Lady Bug Red Cuvee V. Not only is it visually appealing as it comes in a bottle with a green label and lady bugs all over it but the flavors are wonderfully fruity, containing a combination of blackberry, plum, cocoa, oak, and pepper. The wine, made up of Zinfandel, Carignane, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, is sure to satisfy a wide range of wine lovers.
Take People Up on Their Offers
It is etiquette for those attending a party to offer to bring something a casserole, a plate of cookies, a spinach dip. While you may have trouble accepting this gesture, thinking that you should be the one to generate all the party goods, keep in mind that many people who offer to bring something typically really want to.
People enjoy showing their gratitude and when they are able to contribute to a party, they feel as if they are given the opportunity to do just that. If a person asks you if they can bring anything, and you are stressing over the drink selection, simply request that they bring a bottle of wine. This not only assures that they will bring something they enjoy, but it also allows you to subtly shrug your shoulders and point your finger in their direction if others do not like it. That, after all, is what friends are for.
Holiday parties can be hard to plan. But, with the above tips, you should at least have the wine list taken care of, leaving you free to worry about food and dcor instead.
More than anything, when it comes this time of year, keep in mind that the wine you serve at your holiday party shouldnt be that important: the holidays are a time for camaraderie, family, and love, three entities that not even the most expensive vintage can ever rival.

Spyware, Adware, And The Importance Of Cleaning The Registry
Spyware, Adware, And The Importance Of Cleaning The Registry
by Arvind Singh
It is important to remove any trace of Spyware from the system registry. This can be achieved with the help of registry cleaner software.
'Adware' is a term that is frequently used to describe software that downloads and resides in the system and displays 'pop-up' advertisements on the screen. There are many sites that allow users to download programs free of cost in return for permission for adware to installed on their system. This permission is, however, hidden somewhere in the 'terms and conditions' or 'agreement' the user agrees to at the time of downloading the software. Adware is also known as Spyware without the malicious streak. It just monitors the users activity on the Internet and the type of software the user uses on the computer. These non-malicious Spyware do, however, affect the smooth functioning of the computer by slowing down the system greatly and must be detected and removed. This can be done with the help of anti-Adware or anti-Spyware in addition the registry must also be cleaned of any entries of the software with the aid of free Spyware Adware removal software.
Spyware With Malicious Intent
Spyware is Adware with malicious content. They operate in much the same way. However, Spyware actually spy's on the user of a computer. Every time the user enters personal details such as credit card information or his username and password the Spyware will record the information and mail it to its masters. This information can be used to fraudulently cause financial damage to the user of the computer the Spyware is installed on. The registry of a computer proactively upgrades the information and data in its records. Every thing that happens on the computer is registered in the registry. This means that the Spyware is also entered in the registry as well and in hundreds of places too. These entries can only be removed effectively with free Spyware removal software such as free Microsoft Spyware Adware removal tool or the famous Yahoo Spyware Adware removal tool.
Spyware Removal Utility Is Not Enough
Spyware, being designed to covertly install and operate on a system makes it very difficult to detect. One of the main indicators of the presence of Spyware on the system is the slowing of the system or 'pop-up' advertisements. In order to collect data and send it to an email address through the Internet, Spyware must pause other programs already running. This is the reason the system slows. Removing Spyware using anti-Spyware tools is not enough because Spyware expects such action and so installs links in different parts of the registry as well. To remove these links from the registry one must use special Spyware removal programs. Many Free Spyware removal tools do a good job efficiently cleaning the registry and remove all traces of Spyware.

Write Queen Asks for Your Help
Write Queen Asks for Your Help
by Freda Douglas
I have been writing articles and blogs lately, not knowing whether you, the reader, are pleased with what you read, or even if Im even writing about what you would like to read about.
Therein lies my problem and why I need your help. My reason for writing is not to please me, but to satisfy your need for good reading. Im happy no matter what I write because I like to write. To know my readers are happy with my writing is worth money in the bank to me. (It better be since I dont get paid for doing it)
I am going to first tell you where you can read my writing. I post them on www.justarticles.com, www.exinearticles.com, and www.articlecity.com and www.articlesgoaround.com and I recently started a blog and it is located at www.fredabd.wordpress.com.
Id like to know who you are and what you do so that I can better serve you.
What are your hobbies? What kind of work do you do? Do you like what you do? If the right opportunity came along, would you change what you do? Husbands, does your wife work outside the home? Would you like to bring her home without getting in a financial bind?
Are you married? Do you have a family still at home? Is your family grown and out on their own? Do you have grandchildren?
What are your fears and concerns about work, money, the government, politics, and/or the market place?
In other words, I want to know what you think. What and who you are. I also need your picture, with or without your spouse, new or not so new who will know?
One thing I will not get involved in and wont acknowledge is anything to do with religion (I hope you have that but if you dont you have a problem that I cant or wont solve for you), or hateful attitudes (I can take criticism better than most) but keep your hateful attitudes to yourself.
You can write to me at gloryb2u@fredadouglas.com. Rest assured I dont outsource any of my work, and if you want an individual answer I will try to do that, but this request is to get material for future articles. Dear Abby Im not.
Always remember, God loves you and so do I.

Commodity Boom
Commodity Boom
by Kevin Tatem
"I tell you pal, we are going into a new age"... G Gekko circa 1987
There is no doubt in our minds that the world is in the midst of a resources boom that will last for decades to come.
This boom has taken the world economy and in particular the resources sector by surprise, with commodity producers battling to keep up with soaring demand for raw materials.
We believe there are some simple but fundamentally sound reasons for the sustainability of the current resources bull market. Quite simply, they relate to the laws of supply and demand.
When we cast our eyes across the broad resources market, we see a scarily familiar pattern emerging for nearly all commodities. This involves market conditions of strongly rising demand, combined simultaneously with relatively few new commodity supply sources on the horizon.
We emphasise that this applies across the board, but an examination of several key commodities provide excellent case studies. In our view, the best examples are gold and oil.
To begin with, let us turn our attention to gold.
We believe it is fair to say that resource company management has become a lot more conservative over the last few decades. There are far less risk-takers now, a mindset likely molded by many years of poorly performing commodity prices.
Certainly in the gold sector, the key theme became the acquisition of ounces and production, rather than exploration. It was cheaper to buy ounces in the ground than to go out and find them, particularly when gold was trading at just US$270 per ounce in 2001.
Consequently, the gold industry throughout the 1980s & 1990s became reliant on mergers & acquisitions for growth. This was a low-risk strategy in the short-term and popular with shareholders and management alike.
However, this strategy had unfortunate longer-term consequences and the chickens are now well and truly coming home to roost.
Firstly, the slashing of exploration budgets in favour of acquisitions led to a dramatic drop-off in the rate of new discoveries. Hence, the production line of new mines has been disrupted.
And when China came along and led the surge in commodity demand that we see today, the problems were exacerbated.
The result is that gold production from the traditional 'big three' producers - the USA, South Africa and Australia - is in decline. Essentially, the gold industry is a mature industry in crisis.
Quite simply, there are few major world-class mines on the drawing board for the next decade.
So the resource sector is paying the penalty for decades of underinvestment in exploration spending: what we like to refer to as resource sector 'R & D.'
An examination of the oil sector decade paints a similar picture. Essentially, it was easier and cheaper to acquire barrels than to explore for them.
Again, this seemed like a sensible strategy at the time, particularly when crude prices plunged to US$10 a barrel in 1997 in the wake of the Asian economic crisis.
But the consequences for the oil industry are significantly worse than those presented by the gold sector as oil is the lifeblood of the world economy.
Once again, the chickens are now coming home to roost. The world's major fields are maturing rapidly and there is an increasing reliance on smaller fields to plug the gap.
A decade of under-investment in the exploration for new fields has meant that oil prices have surged more than six-fold during that time.
And because it takes years to find, develop and successfully produce from a world-class oilfield, there are no easy fixes. Sensible investors are aware of this, which is why oil prices are heading towards US$100 a barrel within the next few years.
When one also throws in other factors such as the question marks over Middle East reserves, the fact that OPEC's share of world oil production is set to increase and that production from big fields is declining by 16 on last year.
Looking at the broad sector once again, the simple laws of supply and demand that usually apply in resource markets do not seem relevant at the moment.
The laws typically dictate that when prices rise due to strong demand, new sources of supply are attracted to the market, and hence prices will ease.
Scarily, the scenario that is playing out before us will ultimately see record commodity prices pretty much across the board, but with stagnant or declining production in many instances.
There is a scarcity of new projects in the wings, but even some of those projects ready for development are being shelved due to high development costs.
So even in an environment of record prices it is difficult to bring new projects onto the market. What hope is there if prices soften?
And is the Chinese juggernaut likely to stop any time soon? The answer is no.
The world is experiencing a once-in-a-century boom via China. The country is undergoing unparalleled industrialisation, with an enormous rural migration to cities. In turn, this is providing the low-cost labour that is driving China's industrial development.
China has experienced ten-fold growth since the 1970s and over the past decade has averaged 9 over the past four years, the fastest pace since it gained independence and second only to China. It is forecast to average growth of 8 to 13 to 22, energy stocks are up 118, and key commodities copper and oil are up five-fold and three-fold respectively.
So far this year there have been some key commodities that have outperformed and are very much in favour with investors and speculators alike. These include uranium, nickel, copper, platinum, iron ore and silver.
By comparison, commodities like gold, oil, coal and zinc have relatively underperformed. With our unrelenting focus on finding value, particularly amongst those commodities that are somewhat out of favour with mainstream investors, we believe there are some bargains to be found.
As a result, we believe commodities such as gold, oil, coal and zinc will play catch up and we favour investment in companies exposed to these commodities. We firmly believe in not following the herd!

Nano Particle Tech Uses for Molybdenum
Nano Particle Tech Uses for Molybdenum
by James Finch
Finally, the financial markets have caught on as to how hot molybdenum stocks could get. While we began researching molybdenum about a year ago, and only first publishing in July 2006, molybdenum commentator Ken Reser has practically been the lone voice in the moly wilderness for investors. (We understand there have been several tout sheets hyping molybdenum stocks for nearly as long, but we cant include those in serious discussions about this metal.)
Now that molybdenum traders have grown more bullish about the metal, we expect molybdenum pricing to continue higher. Ferro moly prices have continued firming up. Some quantity is now selling at US$76 per kg in Europe. One report indicates a recent moly oxide sale at $31/pound.
The emergence of the Sprott Molybdenum Participation Fund (TSX: MLY; OTC Pinks: SMPCF) might only suggest the beginning of stronger institutional interest in primary molybdenum producers and on-the-horizon molybdenum producers those whose projects could be online by 2010 or sooner.
In March 2005, Ken Reser penned a short editorial entitled, Molybdenum: The 21st Century & Beyond Metal.
Mainstream analysts had not really bothered to investigate the numerous uses for molybdenum prior to Ken Resers discussion. Since then, molybdenum stocks have had an incredible run. Mainstream media, such as Canadas Globe & Mail, Dow Jones MarketWatch, The Australian and Londons Daily Telegraph have featured molybdenum in their articles and named some of the favored companies.
Now that molys time has come, many have passed Ken Reser by, aside from our Australian colleagues, FNArena.com. This is often the fate of pioneers who pave the road and point the direction where investors should head. Pioneers are oft forgotten, although streets are later named after them.
Thats not going to be the case if we have any say in this. Ken Resers moly repertoire has been extensive. Editorials since his seminal article have discussed moly uses in oil and gas de-sulphurization, catalysts, coal liquefaction, energy pipelines, oil super tankers, drill stem tubing, super alloys, nuclear reactors and turbines among others.
What many thought was fiction Reser preached, more than two years ago, are ideas now at the forefront of mainstream discussions among highly respected analysts. The International Molybdenum Association (IMOA) should be thankful Ken Reser attracted such a high level of investor interest to the moly mining sector over the past two years.
Well, the pioneer is alive and well. Ken Reser has more insights into molybdenums future. And we invited Ken to publish them in his commentary below.
Ken Resers Commentary
Little attention has been given to a few other aspects of this metal of mystery, in a world growing and changing so rapidly. I have little doubt there are more than a few uses of moly. New discoveries are waiting in the wings.
One case in point is Nano-Particle technology involving molybdenum.
American Elements Corp; The US leading manufacturer of Rare Earth & Advanced Material products had this to say about Nano-Particle Molybdenum:
Molybdenum Oxide (MoO) Nano-powder or Nano-particles, nano-dots or nano-crystals are ferric and ferrous spherical or faceted high surface area oxide magnetic nanostructure particles. Nano-scale Molybdenum Oxide Particles are typically 20-80 nanometers (nm) with specific surface area (SSA) in the 10 - 50 m 2 /g range and also available in with an average particle size of 100 nm range with a specific surface area of approximately 7- 10 m 2 /g.
Nano Molybdenum Oxide Particles are also available in ultra high purity, and high purity, transparent, and coated and dispersed forms. Applications for Molybdenum Oxide Nano-crystals include in electrochemical capacitors, and in coatings, plastics, nano-wire, nano-fiber and textiles and in certain alloy and catalyst applications. Further research is being done for their potential electrical, dielectric, magnetic, optical, imaging, bio-medical and bioscience properties.
Applications for molybdenum nano-crystals include as a high surface area catalyst and catalyst support and as the catalysts in the synthesis of vertically aligned carbon nano-tubes and in coatings, plastics, nano-wire, nano-fiber and textiles and in certain alloy and catalyst applications.
Super Alloys Created by use of Nano-Particle Reactants
(Courtesy of Materials Research Society: Lab Data)
Advancements in nano-technology for material processing have spurred the development of super alloys that provide improved protection against corrosion and wear. Nano-scale reactant particles offer unique thermal properties and increased homogeneity that may improve the micro-structural features and macroscopic properties of the final product.
In this study up to 10-wt % nano-scale molybdenum tri-oxide (MoO3) particles were added to micron scale nickel (Ni) and aluminum (Al). Results show that adding MoO3 increases the flame temperature and produces greater ignition sensitivity produces a more homogeneous microstructure and increases the overall wear resistance of the product.
Some other uses of nano-particle molybdenum include integrated in paraffin, lubricants, ceramics, nuclear reactor fuel (low enriched uranium), propylene production, high temperature grease, optical fibers, plasma televisions, fuel cells, and much more.
Hollow sphere nano-moly particles now developed show greatly increased effectiveness in the bonding ability of de-sulphurization catalysts. Solar cells are now built on a backing of molybdenum foil. Nano-particle pigment coatings, glass works, dietary and medical products, including artificial limbs.
Weldability of nickel-based superalloys can be approved with weld filler. The invention relates to weld filler which includes these constituents (in wt %): 17.5%-20.0% chromium (Cr), 10.0%-12.0% cobalt (Co), 9.0%-10.5% Molybdenum (Mo) and 0.1%-3.3% titanium.
Hydro De-Sulphurization Catalysts
The unique HDS (Hydro De-Sulphurization) Catalyst aspect of this approach is to use nano-sized MoS2 particles for two reasons:
1. Nano-sizing increases surface area and therefore the number of "active-edge sites" per unit catalyst volume
2. Amorphous nano-particles may overcome steric resistance in sulfur-containing large aromatic molecules making the sulfur susceptible to catalytic attack during HDS.
This approach has three aspects:
Characterization of sterically hindered organic sulfur compounds that are typically present in crudes but resistant to conventional HDS catalysts,
Reaction behavior of these sterically hindered sulfur compounds with nano-sized MoS
Formulation and evaluation of supported nano MoS2-based system for ultra deep catalytic HDS of heavy oils and distillates.
Worldwide, many millions of pounds of molybdenum are annually used in refineries. New refineries are now under construction in Asia, and on the drawing board in various other parts of the world.
Fuel Cells and Batteries
By alloying molybdenum with platinum, and carefully controlling the particle size and loading level of the alloy particles, engineers from the E-Tek Division of De Nora, N.A. have developed Pt-based anode catalysts for polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells that show excellent resistance to carbon monoxide poisoning.
APS Physics (March 2007) comments on Nano-Structured Molybdenum Oxides for Lithium-Ion Batteries:
Lithium-ion batteries are the current power sources of choice for portable electronics. Although such batteries are commercially successful, they are not keeping pace with the rapid advances in computing technologies. Also, further improvement of performance and simultaneous reduction in cost as well as material toxicity remain the subject of intensive research.
Here we report the synthesis and electrochemical performance of a novel molybdenum oxide nano-particle anode that dramatically improves current Li-ion battery technologies. Crystalline MoO nano-particles have been grown by an economical hot-wire chemical-vapor-deposition (HWCVD) technique and a recently developed electrophoresis technique is employed for the fabrication of porous nano-particle anodes. Both cycling stability and rate capability issues are addressed by employing these porous molybdenum oxide films that consist of nano-scale active particles.
These materials will impact the next generations of rechargeable lithium batteries, not only for applications in consumer electronics, but also for clean energy storage and use in hybrid electric vehicles.
To review this abstract: http://meetings.aps.org/link/BAPS.2007.MAR.V42.9
More Nano-Particle Uses
Other new uses include development of new molybdenum- (Nano-Particle) strengthened martensitic steels and other Super Alloys. It is also possible to fabricate large-area porous films of molybdenum oxide nano-particles using a novel electrophoresis deposition technique.
Nano-particle films have led to profound advancement in state-of-the-art electrochromic technologies. MoO films are promising for new lithium ion batteries. There are many newly discovered uses as well for nano particle molybdenum in ION space thrusters, space lubricants, space craft metals and even in space telescopes searching the heavens.
Although molybdenum-based catalysts have already been developed for use in the crude oil refinery process and coal liquefaction, the greatest leaps forward could come from the development of nano particle moly-based Catalysts.
Drilling every deep-depth oil well uses as much as 15% Molybdenum for every pound of drill stem steel. Considering the massive number of pounds (tons actually) of drill stem tubing annually used around the globe, Im sure we would be amazed when extrapolating the actual amount of molybdenum used in just that one sector.
If you also consider that just one kilometer of typical crude oil pipeline uses approximately 2000 pounds of molybdenum in the steel, and there are globally between 80,000 and 100,000 miles of proposed pipeline projects, one can easily visualize the exponential growth pattern of moly demand in years ahead.
As I have stated in past, now you can see why the world is viewing molybdenum in a different light. It isnt just the demand from China, India or other rapidly developing nations driving the demand, the price and the different uses.
Molybdenum is truly a metal for and of the twenty-first century. It will play an ever increasingly important part of future base metals demand. And this could very well prove a boon to primary molybdenum mining stocks. Many have strongly rallied in the past year as molybdenum prices went north, instead of south as many 'experts' forecast.
Primary molybdenum producer Blue Pearl (BLEFF), imminent producer Roca Mines (ROCAF), and near-term producers such as Adanac (AUAYF), Idaho General (GMO) and Australian-based Moly Mines (MYMNF) appear to be the investor favorites for 2007.

Corporate Print Buying Online Solutions
Corporate Print Buying Online Solutions
by Richard Leeds
Compared to traditional methods, using 'simple to use' internet applications can deliver cost savings, reduce human error and enable faster delivery of products and services to all parties in the supply chain. For enterprises, marketing agencies and printing companies who need to streamline the print ordering process, web to print solutions are available on every level. In today's market place, you can choose from fully managed on-line print procurement systems to self hosted solutions that will enable total control of print procurement and application management.
For the corporate print buyer, the first step in moving your print procurement on-line is to list the requirements for your individual business needs. Your existing print suppliers should provide help with identifying these requirements. It is in everyone's interests to end up with a seamless print procurement process.
One of the biggest obstacles to implementation is the printer's desire to lock in a customer to their own on-line system, with the customer having the opposing view. It is vital for the print supplier to recognise this fact. Equally, the customer needs to recognise the value that a totally integrated print ordering solution will provide. The advantage to both is that it can cement a relationship for a period of years, leading to stability for the supplier and enhanced service for the customer.
Another challenge is introduced when more than one print supplier is involved. One answer for the corporate would be then to use a print management company or agency. If you're superhuman and know your printers will collaborate well, you might be able to manage this yourself. The above statements will apply.
Another option is to bring the whole thing in-house. Whether ordering stationery or managing constantly changing marketing collateral, the fundamental benefit is being able to enforce brands and manage document print and distribution. Sometimes, the corporate is the best placed to manage this. Whatever route you choose, successful print ordering implementations are those that involve all people. Those who will be touched by any new processes - internal employees or suppliers - should be part of the planning process. It's better to do this in the beginning when you are listing your requirements. People's fears can be addressed as well as outlining the benefits of change.
What's Possible?
Ordering Versioned Print. Typically, versioned printing is referred to when there is more than one copy of a version of a document or item. But, there may be any number of variations of that document or item. For example, a sales leaflet for a holiday company may have a design which it uses to advertise a range of holidays. However, even though the design and layout is the same, the content could be different for each type of holiday. There may be changes to text, pictures and colours specific for each offer. However, the print quantity for each offer will be more than 1 copy.
Ordering Personalised Print. Personalised printing is referred to when each print copy is unique to the recipient. The individual difference of each one might only be a change of name and mailing address. Or, if it is for 1-to-1 marketing, personalisation could be a complex combination of different text and images. An example might be a postcard advertising a car with an offer personalised to fit the recipients profile.
Printing Versioned and Personalised Items. With the very latest Digital Presses, quality is very close to that of Litho. Using real inks, immediate drying and fast delivery of finished personalised print, it isnt difficult to see why this sector of print is growing. Many organisations are enjoying reduced costs and business growth as a result of implementing targeted print campaigns as part of their overall sales and customer service strategy.
Modern Digital Presses are capable of producing quantities as low as 1. Although technically there isnt an upper limit on quantity, runs up to about 2000 will remain competitively priced. At this point the higher speeds of Litho Presses will make Litho Printing a more cost effective option.
Combining the latest on-line technology with variable print solutions provide print buyers with maximum advantage. Being able to manage marketing campaigns and short run variable printing from the desktop has never been easier. With the right solution, it is possible to order print 24/7 from anywhere in the world, send files direct to press and have jobs delivered within hours.
Stock Management. For printing where larger quantities are needed, e.g. 10s of 1000s, storage, call-off from stock and re-orders need to be managed in an efficient and cost effective way. The best way to achieve this is by implementing a stock management system, with ordering and administration available via the desktop.

Making Your Podcast Standout
Making Your Podcast Standout
by Sharon Housley
Podcasts are relatively inexpensive to create, as a result, and the quality in published podcasts is extremely diverse. Corporate podcasts can be very polished audio productions while hobbyist experimenting with podcasts may have dogs barking and children's screaming in the background.
After all it is the content that matters right? Well no, not exactly remember when black and white televisions could "kind of" tune into stations it was just a hazy effect. How many continued to watch the grainy or flipping screen. Rarely was the show so riveting did it hold the interest of the viewer. Unless of course the content was forbidden to young eyes (as in the playboy channel).
Sound Quality Matters
Having a decent quality microphone is critical to ensure that the audio recording is a quality recording. Filter out extraneous noises, or select a recording area that will not be Interrupted. Use recording software that will allow you to edit out audio snippets that are subpar.
If you generally record in the same location a fixed mic is generally better. If you do field recording you will want to consider a cordless microphone.
Intro and Extro (Outro)
Using music to introduce and end the podcast adds polish to the overall show. You can licensee rights to podsafe music that will allow you to use music in a royalty free capacity. If your show is popular you might find that the music is linked to your show, as part of your brand, so you will want to choose it carefully. There are a number of podsafe music directories where podcasters can purchase music that is royalty free, meaning there would not be any recurring charges when using the music in a podcast.
Theme Music
As with intro and outros, theme music can add a level of professional to a podcast. It is illegal to use copyrighted music in your podcast unless you own the copyright or license it through the proper channels. Consider visiting one of the podsafe music directories to locate music that is reflective of your show.
Edit
It is not enough to record the audio for a show. Polished podcasts are produced using audio editing software. The editing software allows podcasters the ability to filter unwanted noises and edit any dead air or parts of the show you dislike.
Catchy Relevant Name
Keep in mind that many listeners will find your podcast through a web page or search engine. Your podcasts title should be catchy and related to the podcasts content. The podcasts title should contain a slogan that conveys the general theme of the show.
Add iTunes Tags
The Apple iTunes Music Store has a huge audience. Podcasters can tap the iPod audience by adding the appropriate iTunes tags to their podcast. There are software applications that will walk you through the process of adding iTunes to podcast feeds. After adding the tags simply submit your podcast for inclusion in the iTunes Music Store. The listing should appear within a few weeks.
Spin-It
Podcasts are now a dime a dozen. In order to truly stand out the show needs a unique angle, a unique view, an interesting perspective, something different from all the other podcasts out there.
Logo / Image
Add an image to your podcast feed, the extra step will add a bit of polish to your show. Many podcatchers or RSS readers will display the image beside the podcast listing. The visual effect will make your podcast jump out of the list.
Understand Demographic
Who are Your Listeners? Understanding your audience will allow you to cater to them. Know the demographics of your target audience. A well-defined target audience will also help you find show sponsors or advertisers.
SEO for Podcasts
Optimize your podcast shows summary for search engines. Be sure to include keywords or related resources in the podcast feed. This will allow search engines to spider the text for words that relate to your podcast.
Transcript or Show Notes
Many podcasters neglect to include a show transcript, podcasters should consider including detailed show notes or a transcript of the show in the description of the podcast feed. If you display the feed this will increase the likelihood that those interested will find your show in the search engines and podcast directories.
Podcast Length
The show should only be as long as necessary, without being a rambling. Most listeners will have a limited amount of time to listen to podcasts, as a result they will be selective about what they listen to.
Keep it Regular
Create a recording schedule and stick to it, if you don't have time to do it properly then skip a show, your listeners will appreciate that you did not waste their time.
Podcasts are becoming more and more commonplace, distinguish your podcast by polishing it and properly publicizing it.

Learn How To Bake Like A Pro
Learn How To Bake Like A Pro
by Nancy Batson
Baking can be complicated if an individual does not know what they are doing. Here are some cooking tips and guidelines to assist these individuals.
Before an individual gets started, there are a few steps that should be followed first. These cooking tips will prevent most disasters from happening. Always read through the entire recipe before beginning. This ensures that all necessary ingredients are on hand before starting. Check expiration dates on all non perishable supplies, so that running to the store happens in the middle of baking. Preheat the oven and check with an oven thermometer. Most ovens can run anywhere from twenty five degrees to cooler to twenty five degrees warmer. This ensures that the proper temperature is obtained for the recipe. Follow directions on adjusting oven racks, prepping baking sheets, and using the right baking pan. Measure ingredients accurately this means holding it up to eye level especially with liquids. To measure dry ingredients over fill then level off with flat edge of knife. Finally bake with love, if an individual is angry or rushed the recipe may not turn out right.
These next cooking tips are about ingredients. There are many different kinds of flour, and they are not all the same. Wheat flour is important for all yeast breads. Bread flour works for yeast loaves, however put it in yeast bread and it will turn into a heavy cake. Cake flour is very fine. All purpose flour can be used for most any baking. Bleached and unbleached flours can be used interchangeably. Make sure to store flour in an airtight container, in a spot that cool and dry for up to six months.
Baking powder and baking soda are not interchangeable. Baking powder is a combination of baking soda and an acid. Its leavening power works when mixed with wet ingredients and then baked into the oven. Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. When it mixes with an acid ingredient like buttermilk, yogurt or molasses, it makes carbon dioxide bubbles that make baked goods light and airy.
Cooking tips for handling chocolate are important. First there are different types of chocolate. Unsweetened chocolate is chocolate liquor that has at least fifty percent cocoa butter and no added sugar. Various amounts of sugar added create bittersweet, semisweet, and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is dried milk powder, cocoa butter and added sugar. White chocolate is made with cocoa butter instead of chocolate liquor. Unsweetened cocoa is made from chocolate liquor with seventy five percent cocoa butter removed and then dried and ground into a paste. When melting chocolate it is easy to burn, so always melt it over very low heat. Individuals can choose the double boiler method, the direct heat method, or the microwave oven method.
Using these cooking tips will make almost any baked goodie turn out great.

ACCOUNTABILITY - They are Still Missing The Point
ACCOUNTABILITY - They are Still Missing The Point
by Brice Alvord
Many in Government are talking about accountability in business as a result of the accounting and stock market scandals. President Bush signed the Corporate Fraud Law, which was supposed to make CEOs accountable. They are still missing the point about accountability. What they are really talking about is responsibility to the law, not accountability! In addition, they are talking about accountability as if it were something that can be legislated or directed it cannot!
What then is accountability? Accountability is a combination of responsibility and standards (ACCOUNTABILITY = RESPONSIBILITY + STANDARDS). This implies a definable and measurable commitment to deliver a specified result. In other words, to paraphrase Harry Truman, it defines where the buck stops, which is at every level of responsibility. A great part of the confusion comes from a lack of distinction between responsibility and accountability. Responsibility refers to the duties to be performed, describing what should be done without specifying how well or how timely tasks should be performed. Responsibility is an action, accountability is a result (compared to standards).
The next logical question is: Who are we accountable to? Responsibility and accountability by their nature infer a relationship. The answer to the question is; our stakeholders. Stakeholders are individuals or organizations who are involved in or may be affected by the activities of the enterprise. There is a diversity of stakeholders within any enterprise or organization. Each stakeholder has a different and unique need that must be met by the organization. For example, an employee has a need for security, a paycheck, and a safe working environment. On the other hand, an investor has a need for a reasonable rate of return on their investment. A customer has a need for a quality product or service that provides value. The local government has a need for tax revenues and so on.
The business community has failed at the point of the stakeholder, because it has taken an unbalanced approach to meeting stakeholder needs. For business to be successful, it must be accountable at all levels to all of the various stakeholders. For many years, business has focused on meeting the needs of the investors rather than meeting the needs of all of the stakeholders. For example, a company decides to cut costs to drive up its perceived value to investors, and lays-off 1,700 employees. What is the impact on the stakeholders? Investors see improved cash flow and reduced liabilities, thereby making the perceived value of the company stock greater. The CEO realizes increased value to their assets (stock and stock options). The laid off worker is out of a job and realizes diminished value to their assets. The retained worker realizes greater demands on their time, decreased quality of work life and home life, greater stress, etc.
The impact on the organization is greater turnover (voluntarily and involuntarily) which drives costs up, increases waste, reduces effectiveness, and in many cases loses customers. The myopic view of stakeholders is threatening the long-term viability of the enterprise or organization.
Business needs a fresh look at how it is conducting itself in order to re-establish the trust of its stakeholders. A few arrests wont do, new laws wont do, and the words of our politicians wont do. We need to re-think our business structures in terms of true accountability to our stakeholders ALL of our STAKEHOLDERS! This requires reinvent our business in such a way that it is accountable at all levels. Accountability must be linked throughout the organization to its strategic purpose, its vision and values, and to all of the stakeholders.
Accountability requires a commitment from all parties. That commitment must be based upon an obligation to obtain predetermined results in a given activity. Such commitment will only come when both parties have a say in building the accountability. Such accountability does not just happen, it requires a system.
Any such system must take into account the obligations that all enterprises or organizations have to their stakeholders. Without an obligation, there can be no accountability. In business there are five fundamental obligations, they include:
* Survival obligation
* Essential work obligation
* Principal markets obligation
* Principal product obligation, and
* Principal territory obligation.
These obligations exist at all levels of the organization, though they may be stated a bit differently at each level or from department to department. They drive the companys mission as well as its strategic purpose. The five fundamental obligations provide the basis for defining the work in terms of Continuing Vital Activities. These activities, which if not performed according to certain standards, could impair overall operating results.
Continuing Vital Activities (CVAs) are the framework within which realistic and achievable objectives are developed. They help focus the work so that objectives reflect what needs to be done (results based objectives), rather than what will ensure that bonuses are obtained (permissive objectives).
We need to change from the system of permissive objectives that many organizations have fallen victim to one that links concrete results to the obligations that the organization has to the stakeholders. These objectives require that standards be applied to ensure that the necessary results are obtained. The greatest barrier to effective results oriented objectives is a resistance by managers and subordinates alike to define appropriate standards. Standards development must be a part of any accountability system if it is to succeed.
There is a program available for building a true accountability system within an organization - it is called the Accountability Focused Management system provided by The ALERA Consulting Group, Inc. The Accountability Focused Management system provides a systematic structure built upon the five fundamental obligations. It creates an atmosphere of mutual commitment to those obligations by both management and personnel. It helps organizations analyze work to identify Continuing Vital Activities necessary for the success of their day-to-day operations. Once the CVAs have been identified for a position, the Accountability Focused Management system requires managers and subordinates to sit down and discuss the nature of the work in terms of the results the manager needs to get from the subordinate. The subordinate then defines the standards he is willing to, or capable of, achieving in the required time frame. The discussion between manager and subordinate produces a Results Commitment for each of the identified CVAs.
The Accountability Focused Management system changes the focus from responsibility to accountability.

Five Good Reasons for Buying Out-of-State Homes and Why a Real Estate Buyers Agent Is Key for All
Five Good Reasons for Buying Out-of-State Homes and Why a Real Estate Buyers Agent Is Key for All
by Allen Voivod
When some people decide to buy property outside the state in which they currently live, they may be doing it with a lot of knowledge already. They could have the resources of friends and family already living in that state, or the experience of having visited and spent significant amounts of time in the state.
For others, however, the choice to buy real estate whether it's a commercial property, a single home, a condo, or even just bare land can seem daunting without some knowledge of the new state.
Of course, there's some research you can do for yourself. You'll have to narrow it down to the state (and maybe even a county or region) on your own. But when you get down to choosing a city or town, the best source of information is going to be a well-qualified real estate buyer's agent or broker.
Here are five reasons why most people buy out-of-state, and how a real estate agent or broker can assist with all of these scenarios.
1. Retirement. Retiring used to be simple. You bought a place wherever you liked the weather, and you stayed there. Now, though, people live longer, retire earlier, and have active and diverse retirement lifestyles. An agent or broker based in the region you're considering can help you pinpoint the best spot for the lifestyle you want to have.
2. Rental income. If you buy property but don't plan to use it all the time, you might think about renting it out either by advertising locally, or using a website like Cyberrentals.com. Either way, a local agent or broker can give you the scoop on everything from advertising options to cleaning services to management companies and landscaping pros in the area.
3. Vacation destination. Do you like skiing? Surfing? Boating? Hiking? Cultural attractions? Tourist attractions? Some or all of the above? The great thing about talking to an agent or broker in advance is that he or she can also tell you what's available in the area, with the confidence and insider knowledge of a local resident.
4. Family relocation. The reasons to relocate are many: change in job, change in lifestyle, moving closer to (or farther away from) family, choosing a different environment for raising your kids, lower cost of living, even lower taxes. You'll be able to do a lot of research about the state you want to go to, but when it gets down to picking cities or towns, finding a local agent or broker who knows the lay of the land is vital to being satisfied with the ultimate decision you make.
5. Real estate investing. As evidenced by TV shows like "Flip This House," buying homes to fix up and re-sell ASAP is a growing trend. And with foreclosures at a 30-year high, more and more homes can be found for this purpose. With the help of an agent or broker in-state, you can easily find the lenders offering houses for sale, reliable people to do the upgrades, and even market the property for sale.
Ideally, you'd want to spend as much time in the state in which you want to buy exploring, asking questions, and seeing for yourself what the experience will be like, and how it fits into your specific situations and desires. But most folks don't have the time or resources to do that.
And in those cases, the local real estate buyer's agent or broker can be one of your first and best friends in that new state.

The Anatomy of a Repossession
The Anatomy of a Repossession
by Robert Adlan
Despite government claims of a healthy and growing economy, repossessions and loan defaults continue to rise. While such trends are clearly not good for the bottom lines of banks and sub-prime lenders, they have created a boom in the investigative and recovery fields, industries whose financial success is rarely, if ever , mentioned by economists.
Ever wonder what sort of gumshoe legwork the average finance adjuster (an industry euphemism meaning repo man) puts into locating the vehicle he is licensed to steal? To find out, I spent two nights riding along with Marc Fontana, owner of Shadow Towing and Recovery in central Birmingham.
Most--if not all--repo men will tell you there is no such thing as an easy repossession. Fontana has been putting debtors collateral on the hook for over twenty years and still cringes anytime a lender assures him that his task will be as simple as driving to the address and picking up the vehicle. Yet the first stop of the first night seemed to be just that easy. We were looking for a black, 2003 BMW 5 Series being driven but not paid for by a luckless debtor who had exhausted the patience of his finance company.
We found the car at the first address we checked--or so we thought. A quick, obligatory check of the vehicles VIN betrayed the reality that the hunting had just begun. In fact, we thought wed spotted the wanted wheels several times that night.
When I met Fontana at a well-know coffee purveyor the next afternoon, he was busily pecking at his laptop computer placing search orders with a skip tracing firm called http://Cellular-trace.com. In the course of searching for the ghostly BMW, the agent had acquired several unidentified cell phone numbers. As there is no cellular number directory, identifying the name and address associated with such numbers can only be purchased from an investigator specializing in phone number research. He had recently discovered this new, low priced source for such phone numbers and had had very good luck with the company.
When he checked his email an hour later, the normally stoic repo agent began to giggle aloud, confident that the reverse lookup information had helped him best the shadowy debtor and that the mortgaged collateral would soon on the way to his storage facility.
I didnt even know the guy had a cell phone. But now I have a new home address, plus I know where his sister lives, he tells me, becoming more excited with each word.
The sisters house is a middle class suburban home complete with faux shutters, a lighted flag pole and a shiny black BMW in the drive way. This time the VIN was a match and Fontana reversed his tow rig up the driveway, raised the hydraulic lift and rolled the prize down the street before securing it properly under better lights and more friendly conditions.
Those in the recovery business havent always had to rely on outside vendors. Of course then it was a simpler America--a place where people stayed put for a few years at a time and jobs were careers. The new fly-by-night culture of rapid mobility in which everyone is affected by vocational free agency has so complicated society that even those who steal cars for a living have been forced to adapt.

Ten Ways to Write Great Blog Posts That Get Attention
Ten Ways to Write Great Blog Posts That Get Attention
by Courtland Bovee
Millions of blogs fight for readership online (over 75 million by some counts), with thousands more being created every day. Making yours stand above the rest may seem like a daunting task, but here are ten suggestions for making your blog posts stand out from the crowd.
1. Write each post title so it grabs the reader's attention. It is the first thing someone reads, and it should get your reader's attention right away. Your title should both pique the reader's interest and be informative. Do not write "Business Writing Advice"; instead, say "The Best-Kept Secret to Reducing Your Business Writing Worries." Longer titles have the advantage of describing in detail what your post is about; 8-12 words are a good range.
2. Keep sentences short and clear. A little goes a long way. Readers are busy people and they will not spend hours detangling complex syntax or sifting through blocks of text. Also, use strong language. Start a new paragraph every few sentences, and limit each post to 250 words, if possible. If you cannot write it in under 250 words, split it into two entries.
3. Break up the text. Use numbered lists, bullet points, and subheadings to make your posts easy to scan. Lots of white space on the page is a good thing-it allows your reader to take mental breaks and let the knowledge soak in. In addition, with the inevitable clutter of banner ads and side text, this technique puts some distance between your writing and all those distractions.
4. Keep current. No one wants to read old news. Your job is to stay up-to-date so your readers do not have to themselves. Read newspapers. Scour the web for references. For example, if you write a blog about business communication, subscribe to Google News Alerts using keywords related to the field, such as blogs, podcasting, instant messaging, business letters, memos, and business reports, so you will always be well informed. Posting items from last month or last year will lose your reader's interest faster than you can say "Enron."
5. Be bold. Timidity is an easy path to anonymity. Do not be afraid to create and state your opinions. Of course, there are some situations in which objectivity rules-but you have to give people a reason to read this blog by you and not by the person next door.
6. Be accurate. If you make a statement, be prepared to back it up. Know what your sources are and quote them accurately. Misinformation spreads like wildfire online; do not be the spark that sets it off or the wind that fans it.
7. Contribute to the conversation. Links are great-but then what? Do not just post links to the same tired sites, offer your reader something new. Contribute to the conversation. Your goal is to be the site to which everyone else is linking-so you had better have something worth writing about.
8. Stay focused. Once you have defined the theme of your blog, stick to it. A blog about piggy banks has no business posting about the latest innovation in alternative energy. Such a deviance will only confuse your reader and chip away at your virtual authority.
9. Use key words liberally. Keywords are, well, key. Harness your blog's search engine potential by dousing your title and post with effective keywords that will help interested parties find your page in the vast, muddled blogosphere. This is one of the most important elements of getting your blog read-go at it with gusto.
10. Be consistent. Keep a schedule and stick to it. Post frequently-at least several times per week if you want to increase your potential of attracting new readers. Let your blog languish for weeks without updates and your audience will move on to fresher ground.
Maintaining an informative blog that people want to read takes hard work and good writing skills. Find what makes your writing unique-and flaunt it for all it is worth.

Cooking- Cooking With Kids
Cooking- Cooking With Kids
by Kelvin Ho
Kids love to be creative. Cooking is a great outlet for kids to express their creativity. It can also help provide a wonderful way to build and develop self-esteem.
One-on-one Time
With our lives so busy, cooking provides a wonderful way to spend quality one-on-one time. The memories that are created while cooking together will last a lifetime. I am sure many of you have fond memories of learning and helping your parents or grandparents cook. It may take extra patience and time to prepare the meal, but the benefits far outweigh the time it takes to clean up.
Age Appropriate
Depending on age of your child, pick age appropriate tasks. For example, if your kids are too young to measure or assemble ingredients, let them have a quick stir or let them pour something into the bowl. They will be thrilled to just be able to help.
Older kids can help with things like measuring, stirring, assembling and helping follow the recipe. Teenagers can also help by preparing, shopping and cooking the meals with minimal guidance.
Benefits
So what are some of the benefits? Some you will see immediately and others may take a life time to notice. Either way, there are many great benefits.
Not only does it teach kids a lifelong skill, but it also helps instill healthy eating habits. Kids that learn to cook and eat healthy will be more likely to continue with good eating habits into adulthood. Encouraging kids to cook and eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables in the home can also help reduce the amount of junk food they are consuming.
It also can reduce the number of times a family runs through the drive though or picks up take out, thus helping the family save money and reduce caloric intake while developing healthier eating habits.
Family Time
Another added benefit is that it provides children with structured family time. Children love stability and cooking and eating together is a chance to provide family togetherness. It also helps kids feel like they are contributing to the family. Plus when they help prepare the meal, they are more likely to feel a sense of accomplishment and actually want to eat the meal. Picky eaters will even venture out to try food they helped prepare, more so than they would if you simply put a plate of food in front of them. Now what parent does not wish that mealtimes would go a little smoother?
Great family recipes and secrets are learned and passed down the line. Many of our favorite recipes get passed down the line from past generations. If your family has a great cooking history, pass it along to your kids. In turn, they will share it with their future families.
Have fun sharing and creating memories with your kids.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Customization Design
Microsoft Dynamics GP Customization Design
by Andrew Karasev
Microsoft Great Plains customization specking out might be challenging enough, especially if you try to think about GP modification from the perspective of .Net surface mods, not getting to the Dexterity depth its tables structure, records workflow (how transactions are distributed in SQL Dex tables clusters: master, work, open, historical). As GP consultant you naturally understand that if you spec out customization, you need to decide on programming tools, and this in turn determines the customization architecture. Currently GP modification, reporting and integration tools are .Net, Dexterity, SQL scripting, eConnect, Integration Manager, Modifier with VBA, Extender, ReportWriter, SRS, Crystal Reports; in the case of Business Portal customization is more challenging, it is in .Net and UML and you do not have the option of direct modification access to SQL server. Lets come through the techniques and options:
1. Business Logic mapping. This part is the most important. You need to decide how your customization extension will integrate with existing business logic. It might be independent custom logic with following integration to GP tables in this case you should be familiar with GP master and transactions records distribution in GP. The easiest and most reliable approach is to imitate intended integration records via Great Plains user workstation data entry
2. .Net. Consider web ecommerce data publishing from Great Plains SQL tables. However, make your homework and research GP tables structure. Open GP workstation and go to tools->resource description->tables. We only intend here to orient you for the next step, not really give you complete solution, so you is the one to explore the further options
3. eConnect. In addition to above option, eConnect will give you some comfort level manipulating master and work transaction records in GP. In eConnect you can not post Great Plains transactions, due to Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity architecture posting is left to GP users
4. Modifier/VBA. This tandem was very popular in 1990th and earlier 2000th, however now it is legacy as it is not .Net compliant. VBA is also Integration Manager modification tool. VBA scripting is very powerful you can include Dexterity sanscript scriplets into Modified forms logic, which is very cool, but unfortunately not easily upgradeable to new GP version. VBA usesOLE Server functionality
5. Microsoft Dexterity. Former name is Great Plains Dexterity. This tool requires professional Dex developer, otherwise you will get into years long learning curve with all the known development errors and traps. The beginning of Dex learning are Dynamics.dic, Dex.ini, Dynamics.set, DEX_ROW_ID
6. Integration Manager. Besides obvious and intuitive integration you can extend it with VBA scripting and data translation. At this time IM is in process of being redesigned in eConnect (on the business objects level SQL stored procedures), this should resolve known IM performance issue. Consider direct eConnect programming if you plan to integrate over ten thousand records per day
7. Reporting Tools. You should be aware that both SRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Crystal Reports will more likely require SQL Stored Procedures or SQL Views to be based on. If you decide to follow the wizard approach the chances are high that you will end up with long term debugging and then move back to SQL stored procedure or view
8. ReportWriter is Dexterity module with all the pluses and minuses of this legacy technology. Report Writer reports version update is known as challenging, especially if you are not happy to redesign several reports from scratch. Known trick is as this open new (non modified) and old (modified) version of your report and compare calculated fields
